MGO is Updated AGAIN

MGO will be updated with a new game mode and map today. The game mode will allow a player to take the role of Snake. Bet you didn’t see that coming. The player playing as Snake will have his usual goodies such as the Solid Eye and OctoCamo. The goal while in the role of Snake is to sneak (you know use the stealth and strategy that many refuse to use in the game) around the level and collect dog tags by defeating the other players. The remaining players will still fight on the red team or blue team. Also, when there are more then 10 players in the game, an additional play is able to take the role of Metal Gear Mk II. I currently love team deathmatch mode the best, so this new mode will definitely see some playing time. Read more »

Confronting Socom: Confrontation

Socom: Confrontation is a highly anticipated title that is being developed by Slant Six. The game has already been featured in EGM and now there has been some exclusive footage shown on the 1Up show. Metal Gear Solid: The Complete Guide

On newsstands right now is PlayStation: The Official Magazine’s Metal Gear Solid: The Complete Guide.

So many times before, I have been duped by the hype of a game or console, into purchasing a “launch guide” or and “all you need to know about (insert game/console here)”.   I always finish reading the publication with a poor taste in my mouth.  Nothing but recapped articles from previous issues, and pages upon pages of already seen screenshots.

Well I am here to tell you that this one is different.

Sure it has some of the aforementioned “previous articles”, it even has some old interviews with Hideo Kojima.  But its the new editorial content, mixed in with detailing the MGS time line and characters that truly set this publication aside from the rest.

Some of the more original content features stories about Johnny Sasaki, Rose, and Raiden.

The Complete Guide is just that.  It recaps the whole Metal Gear Series, all the characters, all the sequels, all the spin offs, all the emotions, all the thoughts provoked while playing these masterpieces.

The Metal Gear Saga DVD Vol 2. did a good job of briefly recapping the series, and providing quick backgrounds to some of the characters, and plot.  However if you are looking for a more detailed version of that, then surely you should pick up this guide.  In fact, if you cannot find it…. hunt it down.

Why Everyone Will Eventually Love Super Stardust HD

Easily one of the most popular games available on the PSN, Super Stardust HD just gets better and better. SSDHD recently has had a solo pack add-on made available, which I suggest everyone purchase. Yes, that is the same add-on that was announced here first. It brought several new game modes, Endless is currently my favorite, and a new retro soundtrack. Read more »

There is No Place Like Home

Spring 2008 you will all be experiencing Home. Well, not so fast. A press release has passed on the bad news that Home will be delayed until Fall 2008. The Closed Beta has been extended through the Summer as well. Disappointed? Yea, me too. But it isn’t all bad. Sony plans to expand the number of testers in the Closed Beta. Exact details regarding the registration process have yet to be revealed. At least there is a silver lining to this cloud. Read more »

When Peter Dille Talks, Apparently People Listen. (I am not surprised). Side Note: That is Sir Stringer in the picture.

Peter Dille recently posted on the PS Blog about the present and future of the Playstation Network. He spoke of the new store, which we love here at Sev1512, and other coming services as well. One of the primary services that were discussed, is the video download service. He described it as a service unlike anything that is currently offered by any other provider. (Yes, that does include Apple and Microsoft for those that were wondering). What he said that seems to be a staple of Sony execs, is that we would hear more about it soon. Read more »

MGO: New Beta Date Announced
