UPDATE: 1st and 3rd Party Games with Trophy Support

StalkingSilence has an excellent thread on the Official US PlayStation forums listing the different games that have been confirmed or rumored to have trophy support, and not just the first party games. Here are the games we know so far will at some point support trophies:
- Burnout: Paradise
- Buzz! Quiz TV
- LittleBigPlanet
- Motorstorm Pacific Rift
- NBA 09 [PS3]
- NOVASTRIKE
- PAIN
- PixelJunk Eden
- Resistance 2
- SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation
- Super Stardust HD
- Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
- Warhawk
On the US PlayStation.Blog, Simon Phipps from Criterion Games commented on his blog post on Burnout Paradise informing gamers that in fact Trophies from Burnout WILL be retroactive because your PSN ID is locked to your game save. We also suspect that Warhawk is the same but we haven’t had this confirmed just yet.
Finally Bioshock is rumored to support Trophies thanks to Joystiq and Metal Gear Solid 4 is extremely likely to support Trophies at some point because Konami were rumored to be pushing Sony to release this firmware before the games release, and MGS4 is such a big game this year. However with a couple of magazines backing up our previous insider information about 70% of current games at some point supporting Trophies, and a forum member at GameTrailers claiming to have sources who say it should take half a day to implement (not create) Trophies and in-game soundtracks, we can expect many of our favorite games to have Trophies in the future.
UPDATE: Game director Dylan Jobe has said there will be 10 retroactive trophies based on the Warhawk’s current stats/rank/awards system, plus an additional 34 troophies and another 4 for each booster pack. These will arrive in 1.5 shortly after update 1.4 which will arrive very soon.

Thank you Kareem.

Only half a day to implement trophies and in-game soundtracks. That’s good. I think most games have had trophies for Home for awhile. So there may be a lot of patches coming our way. I think Sony probably made implementing in-game soundtracks a pretty easy task. It has to be easier than the old way they has to do it. I’m looking forward to patches.

This interview with gamespy, Eric Lempel completely contradicts the news that Criterion has retroactive trophy support.
http://uk.ps3.gamespy.com/articles/885/885361p1.html
Gamespy posted:GameSpy: It’s been mentioned that currently existing save data won’t be eligible for trophies, due to concerns about someone taking a game save from a friend and cheating to level up. What about currently available games with award systems, like Burnout Paradise or Devil May Cry 4, that have save data that’s locked to a single PSN ID?
Lempel: We’re currently not allowing that data to roll over into the trophy system.

@ Tom
‘ Eric Lempel completely contradicts ‘ not really, i ll explain:
Criterion is already doing what will be the right way of saving games.
The game data now is linked to account data, since its already doing this , they have no problem.
What erics says , is that games that are not doing this ,will NOT be allowed to have retroactive trophies. You know , to avoid people cheating downloading saved data.
So in fact he has not contradicted.
oh my friend ,the odd world of data and memory managment…

Does anyone else remember the interview with someone from Rockstar on IGN in which they mentioned that when Sony released Trophies that they would be supported in GTA? I was looking earlier but I can’t find the interview.
Can anyone else? It was one of the really long interviews they did just before GTA IV’s release…

@ Trapper02
I highly doubt it is out at midnight. If it is it would be PST. But Im guessing tomorrow afternoon.
@ Skhan

I would really like to get an official list from Sony. I would like to see GT5P, CoD4, and MGS4 with support right away. That would be huge. Also WTF happened to private voice chat. Communication was supposed to be the biggest selling point of 2.4. I hope that comes soon…
July 2, 2008 at 11:35 am
oh yeah ! Uncharted , i love that game ,its cool to have a ‘excuse’ to replay it
(Ok ,i love that game except the last hour ..you know when ‘those’ appear)
July 2, 2008 at 1:18 pm
I wish they would have launched them with a better game than boring-ass Super Stardust HD. Bleh, just Sony trying to drudge up sales for their tired, bargain bin downloadable crap.
July 2, 2008 at 4:51 pm
oh i thought only 70% for trophies not for i-g soundtracks
July 3, 2008 at 1:07 pm
I wouldnt be surprised to see Haze get Trophies just because Ubisoft probably want to do anything they can to boost those sales.

Update 2.41 was so needed. GTA definately needs to get out an update to support trophies. Also, ps3 is going to dominate over all other consoles when HOME arrives.
