Final Fantasy XIII No Longer PS3 Exclusive

Final Fantasy XIII is now officially coming out on the XBox 360 as well as the PS3. This information was made public during th Microsoft Press Conference. This can be attributed to the increased development costs this generation or Square Enix’s desire to expand the gaming audience that will have access to the highly anticipated game.
Are you disappointed? I won’t lie. I am.

Well this pretty much guarantees that FFXIII wont be as good as it could be.

Hahaha holy crap are you serious? I’m not even a fan of Final Fantasy games and I think that’s a slap in the face. I hope the game bombs and makes no money!

I didn’t go to the microsoft conference didn’t have the invite. They said I can’t go to the EA one either since I didn’t get the invite for it.
Comon, now alot of gamers can experience FF XIII. Also lets not forget, I wonder how many DVDs it will take to fit FF XIII?

That sucks man, you need to be a big dog to get into E3. The EAE is probably not the same. EAE stands for Entertainment for All Expo.
of course you need an invite with EA. you should’ve recieved a confirmation of your invite if you’ve checked the email that’s been registered with your E3 pass.

I like my PS3 but come on now, I’ve been telling myself that I don’t mind if the XBox 360 has all those JRPG’s that I want (Eternal Sonata, Infinite Discovery, Star Ocean) I can live without them as long as I get Final Fantasy.
Now I find out I could’ve played all those jrpg’s AND Final Fantasy on one console……wth?!

Spoke to my Japanese friend a while ago, he said the forums he’s been on are on pure fire with hatred lol i don’t think some people know that FF on the 360 might not be coming to Japan.

Pretty big but there are really no third party exclusives for Microsoft either. Sony still has tomorrow and im sure they will announce some new exciting games.

RESPONSE: I hate to say this but Sony isn’t famous for dropping big bombs on us while MS has a habit of doing so. GTAIV tattoo on Peter Moore, exclusive DLC, Rock Band 2 60-day exclusive release window, Netflix exclusivity (with an already huge library of movies and TV show content) and now the fact that they’re getting the ONE game that EVERYONE just assumed was going to stay on Sony’s box.
Short of announcing that Gears of War 2 is coming to the PS3, Sony can’t announce anything that will be as big as FFXIII coming to the 360.
It’d be different if it were just FFXIII Versus. That game is more like an off-shoot rather than the true sequel to the series. Sony just lost so much today as MS proved that their dominance in the U.S. is enough to force a Japanese company to take a second look even though the game is not being released in Japan (weird).
MS had a HUGE, MIND-BLOWING conference with so many updates and announcements it’s hard to keep track of it all. New interface, Home-like-Wii-like avatar system, more studios adding content to XBL, more community features with Live Party and Lips; just amazing. It’s getting harder and harder to hate the 360 when it does so many things so well.
Sony has a lot to live up when they take the stage as the stench of the FFXIII announcement will be fresh in the minds of all attendees.
The only bragging rights PS3 owners will have is that the game will (probably) be on one Blu-ray disc while the 360 version will (most likely) have to be spread across 4 or more discs. We can only hope that the 360 version sucks or has problems but I doubt a company like SquEnix is going to mess up a franchise like FF.
Please people, no petitions. What’s done is done. Let’s try to move on.
It’s not a big deal to me. As long as the PS3 version stays lead, I’m happy. My only problem with cross-platform games is that they’re generally bad ports, and since it was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive, it’s a pretty safe bet that this game won’t be a straight port.
I will admit, however, that I feel cheated by SE, but for a different reason. They’re cranking out several 360-exclusive JRPGs, and only one game exclusive to the PS3 now. It’s insulting. They’re essentially saying that we’re not even relevant.

This is a turning point for many gamers loyal to Playstation it is a big deal also other game developers are keeping an eye on the outcome. If things went good for Square Enix Kojima and others might follow as there were already some rumors going around and it will conclude who is the next-generation console. I bought PS3 mainly because of MGS and FF Series. Right now format is not an issue for me it is LOOSING EXCLUSIVITIES on the supposedly exclusive titles that’s hurting PS3 owners.
I dont like squaresoft for that.. and yes, i still call it squaresoft. i miss that that name. and i honestly have lost respect for them. but i will purchase the game. im still thier fan. but giving it to the 360 makes it seem like they dont care about anything but money. even though it does give the world to see Squaresoft for what they are. i think its better for them to just keep on representing SONY. but look like we lost them. oh wells. Doing this just makes 360 look good. im not a hater. just that, the 360 gamers talk a load of trash. and i been quiet for a long time. i can go on, but Square Enix aint gonna give a crap what me or fans gonna say..
