Uncharted to get Trophies ‘mid-August’

Speaking to Joystiq, Randy Nelson from Naughty Dog said Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune should get Trophies ‘very soon’, around mid-August. The update has been set for quality assurance and therefore could arrive sooner.

According to Wells, the patch was “incredibly easy” to implement because the game already contains preliminary support for Trophies via its Medals reward system. He further revealed that these hooks were actually included because Naughty Dog thought Sony would roll out Trophies before Uncharted’s November 2007 launch.

The Trophies will not be retroactive. Hopefully we will see other games implement Trophies before then.

    YES!
finally devs are starting to get to work
I’m still worried about the ‘70% of existing titles will support’ claim tho
    SSHD isn’t quite 70% lol

  2. Pesico Says:

Forget the 70% claim. Never gonna happen. But in the future, not sure when, 100% of games that releases, will have them. Capcom has allready signed a deal that they have to include them in new titles.

I’m definitely going to replay it,when this patch hits. This is one of my favorite games.

So, do we need to delete our save and start all over. Or, if we continue our save with a new game do we get credit for all the stuff we already unlocked, once we beat it. In other words, the stuff we collected our first time around we get credit for once we beat it the second time? Or we need to start from scratch?

I’ve put off playing this until the patch is released… I really hope it comes sooner.

I lost all interest in trophies, as they are hardly patching anygames. Let alone mandatory for future games.

By the time the holidays roll around most of those releases should have trophy support, and I am so glad that the Uncharted trophy’s aren’t retro, hopefully some will be different then the current medals

Do I need to start a new game file or will I have to delete my progress, I have every skill point except beating the game on expert which I am almost done. There are 61 of 60 treasures, so how would I go back and get em’. I don’t see how a patch can’t do all this all ready. RSV2 on 360 had a problem giving people who already owned the original RSV the initial achievement of “private” class if their RSV1 online ranking was higher (since ranks carried over). Ubi patched the game and it automatically issued you the achievement after, by looking at your game save. I don’t see why this cant be done w/ PS3’s trophy system if it can be done on 360. The patch read the save file and issued achievements accordingly, why can’t skill points from these PS3 games carry over, DMC4’s accomplishments for example.
