L.A. Noire Almost Complete?
Written by BigPete7978
If you remember correctly, a couple years ago Rockstar released some trailers for an upcoming rumored PS3 Exclusive called L.A. Noire. They pretty much fell off the map after that. We haven’t heard anything about this game since then. Well Team Bondi has just stated that they are in the “Final Production Phase” of the game. Full quote and trailers follow.
We’re looking to expand our Animation Team to cope with the final production phase of L.A. Noire. This includes the in-game cut-scenes, story cut-scenes, reviewing and cleaning up the animations for the in-game mechanics and supervising capture for the new facial animation technology which has been developed in conjunction with this project.

Interesting. Seems they would want to show it off if they were too close so might not be a fast “Final production phase”
I have my doubts that it will still be a PS3 exclusive since Sony stopped funding Bondi it over a year ago. Take2 will probably want to maximize it’s exposure.
But either way, would be nice to see how it’s shaping up.

You guys hiring? I clearly get the job done faster and would love an excuse to write articles.
All in good taste.

Hmmmm…this seems different that what I remember…..my understanding was that the R* exclusive was not L.A. Noire?!?!?

It isn’t, this is developed by Ex-Team SOHO, Team Bondi.
And obviously Team SOHO, is Sony first party.
It was also the case that SCEA was funding this.

Haha. You clearly did beat me to it Kyle.
I just looked it up on N4G.

I wonder how close to release this is
July 24, 2008 at 1:52 am
@Chris Rah Osiris
I can bet you it isn’t very close. Cutscenes can be time consuming, and Take Two were stating they don’t want to talk abotu vapourware at their conference at E3. The vapourware they talk of, was listed in a montage of trailers beforehand, one of which was L.A.Noire.
You could however argue, thats crap, becuase Take Two also said Midnight Club L.A was vapourware.
Take what it from you will.
@BigPete
Nevermind, even I was two months late to the actual post on their [Team Bondi] site. I just thoguht I’d spread word this hadn’t gone the way of the dodo.

The Game is still exclusive???
Or is going to be multiplatform at the end??? Please answer.
Thank you.

@Mondragoon
As far as is known it’s still exclusive. There hasn’t been much word on it since its first announcement. So we have to go by what we know.

To Kyle Barrett:
we may be hiring soon at our site, but still team bondi signed a 3-game deal with Sony and I don’t understand why the funding was pulled but I guess we won’t understand for a while, I messaged them in hope of some sort of answer.
July 24, 2008 at 2:28 am
Well if you are serious, I’d be interested.
I was the same Kyle Barrett who emailed the BBC about their mystery game. I am not afraid of getting questions out there. I have also been trying to track down Surfer Girl.
I sound awesome, I ahve to admit. Anyway, I’ll bookmark your site, and try to contact you there.

On the official website of Team Bondi, LA Noire is describe as a game for Next Generation ConsoleS so… it’s not an exclusive game.
See you …
July 24, 2008 at 8:51 am
Crap… that´s what i fear for…. another exclusive less
July 24, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Where does this quote come from ?
Sounds like a fake …

“We currently have a requirement for an experienced IT Assistant to provide user support to a PlayStation Development Team.”
thats from their website, it still seems that their playstation only for now.
July 24, 2008 at 4:42 pm
I also doubt LA NOIRE is exclusive, i bet it took an “Assassin’s Creed” direction.
How is the track record of Team Bondi?
July 24, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Team Bondi is ex-First party, so their track record has been The Getaway, and then an exclsuive agreement.
I am not sure anymore though.
July 24, 2008 at 8:11 pm
Err, Team Bondi isn’t first party. Team Soho and Studio Camden merged to form SCE London. Though Team Bondi have got strong links with Sony (obviously, being formed by Brendan McNamara) they are not first party. I would say they are in a similar position to Ready at Dawn, where they are not big enough to fund their own projects, but will because of their undeniable talent they will attract money from outside parties (in the case of TB, Sony and Take Two, for Ready at Dawn, Capcom funded Okami Wii).
July 24, 2008 at 8:39 pm
As I wrote…. they are ex-First Party….
Yah?
They were ex-Team SOHO members. And indeed the links with Sony kind of ensure they are still fudnign it, or it’s exclusive.
July 24, 2008 at 11:40 pm
Team bondi lost all its lead programmers a few months ago and havent been able to fill the positions as far as i know. From what I have heard they are currently suffering from financial troubles. Previous emloyees have said it was a terrible place to work also.
I wouldnt touch them with a ten foot stick.

July 26, 2008 at 9:12 am
