Hello to our loyal readers…
We are proud to announce our new direction for PlayStation LifeStyle. We will be focusing more on the “LifeStyle” aspect of our name. You can look forward to articles, thoughts, and opinions coming from lifelong gamers. We will cover how gaming plays a role in our everyday lives and how PlayStation has grown up along side us authors, along with many other subjects.
Instead of bringing you the same daily news as other sites, we will bring you our take on the day’s news and how it will affect the gaming industry, as well as your average PlayStation fan.
Another thing you will notice is that there will be no more “insider news”, less “rumors”, etc. Instead of working against developers/publishers, we will be working with them to bring you a inside look at the games they are producing. We apologize, since we know a lot of you first came here for our insider news. However, we will be focusing less on hits and more on quality journalism, as well as keeping PlayStation LifeStyle’s integrity intact throughout the gaming industry.
So this doesn’t mean we won’t BREAK news, we just won’t LEAK news.
We invite you to comment below and let us know what you think of our new plans for the site!
I have enjoyed your insider news, and yes, that is what brought me here, but I think you guys are moving in a very interesting direction. If it turns out the way I think, I will still be a loyal reader. Good luck with this change.
It’s a bit saddening to see that we won’t be getting any more insider news from you guys, but I completely understand where you guys are coming from. Devs and publishers really don’t like leaks, and being a future programmer I can understand and respect their and your wishes to assist them instead of hurting them. Just keep up with the many quality posts that I’ve seen from you guys.
I really enjoy PSLS and it’s community and plan on sticking around as long as you guys do.
Thank you Phoenix8387, that means a lot
Sounds Good, that means that we will know your opinions on facts, rather than rumors
I like the idea of the new direction, but i will miss the insider news. Good luck and can’t wait to see whats in store. i wont be going anywhere!
I am currently still planning on having the rumored upcoming PLAYSTATION Store content posts guys, since those are based on all facts and info that’s been provided by the developers. The current plan is to have that exclusive feature run here weekly.
And don’t think that this means we won’t BREAK news. We just won’t LEAK news.
Good point SS, I will edit the original article to reflect that.
i wont come anymore then, opinions are everywhere on the net, your insider news was brill tho.
That actually make me look more forward to the new direction. I really wasn’t a big fan of leaks, as often they’re only semi-true and only tend to get your hopes up just to let them down.
So to be clear…
The ‘Hardware 2′ reveal? Leak or Break?
The FF7 rumor? Leak or Break?
Lets see what this new direction is all about!
So does that mean you won’t be posting up pictures of Hardware 2?
i loved u guys for the very reason you decided to change the direction, but, hopefully you can change my mind and prove to us this is the right step.
good luck with it
i like the new direction and look forward to it.
@phoenix yeah i would like to know for sure. im not complaining but i don’t wanna get my hopes up and would rather no the truth
I remember a few months ago just randomly coming onto this site and have been reading it once a day. Don’t make alot of posts but once the ” Lifestyle ” part begins it should be interesting to hear people’s stories.
Hey sev, I respect your decision – it’s your site, you’re allowed to do with it what you will.
That being said, I am a bit disappointed, as I liked the insider tips and such. Will you point your sources to me? I will be launching a site within a week, and I have several writers, and I’d love to take over that side of things..
We are undecided about the Hardware 2 screens.
We have them. But we dont want to step on the developers toes.
The truth is there is a game in development called Hardware 2 by the developers we listed.
That was a leak.
The FFVII info, I can only confirm that there ISNT a remake in the works at the moment. The surprise is something else.
@ phoenix, you have a PM on our forums.
So Sev what gonna happen with the Aug 3rd reveal, causes tgis all seems really convienent that you guys got the hits then decide to “change direction”. Not accusing you just sayin is seems quite fishy.
@ Relcom
I addressed your comment on N4G.
Leak the pics for your final insider leak.
I blame GAF for this conversion.
I have no doubt this new direction will be just as informative and brill as the current standing of the Site, all I will ask for is a PSLS Podcast
Thanks Sev and we should totally have a vote for who wants to see the HARDWARE 2 (concept name) screens
I second the podcast contention
@ Meh,
while NeoGAF did have something to do with our change. Thats not the only reason.
We realized we were pissing off devs/publishers when we are trying to make relationships with them.
Basically we want our dedication to gaming to stand out, and inside news was only hurting our integrity rather than helping it.
Guys – please look at my posts here: http://playstationlifestyle.net/author/stalkingsilence/
With the exception of the Warhawk Home-launching screens revealing the 2 new game modes, I didn’t post any leaks but still broke a lot of news. You can expect similar news to continue.
Example of original content: you can expect more exclusive interviews directly with the developers, coming soon. You can hold me to that.
Basically, Sev is informing you all that the info will still be here, you’ll read it first HERE – but when we release info it will be more accurate. Trust me, it’s a change for the better.
The leaks brought me to PSLS too..i really enjoyed coming here and always checking if anything new had been leaked..sad to hear it’ll stop but i must admit it’s the best thing to do. Let’s be honest: Leaks are bad. But hey, you know how in today’s gaming industry we’re eager to learn more the soonest. Good luck, and thanks for all you’ve brought us over the past months.
Just one thing: I do not ask for a detailed answer from you, just a YES or NO…well actually if you do know i’d like to hear whether it’ll be a blast or not
Do you know what this game, which should normally be revealed this thursday, is and on which system(s) it’ll be appearing? :
http://games.plaync.co.kr/
Thanks again, and good luck.
Oh right, it’s currently under the code ” Project [M] “.
So, do you or don’t you know what NCsoft’s game is?
Sorry Toni, I cannot comment on that.
well i won’t be coming here anymore *deletes bookmark*
Sorry anon. We knew this would happen with a lot of our readers.
We hope that the rest of you have got to know us over the past few months and will continue to support PlayStation LifeStyle.
Good Choice. Sev, I will continue to support you guys. Don’t forget to add XMBonline to the blogroll.
I guess this was a double-edged game from the start. I wish the best of luck to you guys! Still believe it was unwarranted to single out the site for a ‘ban’ on neogaf. Then again, a downward spiral was forming.
Anyway keep up the great work.
Insider news was good; but I feel that sometimes that you (the site) gave far too much info about ‘Hardware2′ on the first day especially hyping up a game that pretty much nobody heard of, atm in its current state nobody seems to be looking forward to.
Although it may of be a great game, doing so may of possibly ruined a future ace up Sony’s sleeve and we won’t be suprised when we finally hear the announcement. The leak of the concept of the game may now cause ‘clones’ to get developed by ‘competitors’.
Because I’m a believer in the Sony (Playstation) brand, I understand that all of this time, Sony’s inhouse development companies haven’t just been wasting time, Sony own so many, there MUST be a good few top secret Blockbusters being made. Sony have always supplied me with a collection of inhouse, developed, original games. I realise ths site was trying to do good, but unlike the BBC journalists ‘leak’, this place let out too much and created far too much hype.
Of course, I’ll continue reading this as I do PS3Fanboy; I look forward to the new direction of interviews and features, but please don’t become ThreeSpeech.
Relating to Hardware 2; I don’t want screenshots or any further info until offically stated.
hAVE you lot had your knuckles rapped from the big one in the sky…???
I like youe style. keep it up
This site will be quite different from PS Blog and ThreeSpeech. Give us a couple days. I don’t think many of you will see a HUGE change. It’s not as big of a deal as people are making it out to seem.
Notice the original post says “LESS rumors” not “NO rumors” as incorrectly listed on N4G. Hopefully you all caught that.
ah, no more leaks.
thats okay, i like reading you peoples personal views on games like your peoples reviews and that kind of stuff, & i know you guys are experienced gamers so i’ll be checking this site everyday.
and please have new posts very often
@Skhan,
You got it!
I see what you’re hoping to do, and I think it’s the right choice. I will continue to visit and support you guys. Keep on keepin’ on!
Stalking,
Just want to add my two cents on the whole ‘unveiling of Hardware2′.
I would not leak the screens, because this could harm an already fragile relationship you have with developers/publishers. These screens could also be damaging for the product, since its not presented in a form that reflects the finished product(Developers vision). Otherwise it would have been announced by now.
Being branded a liar by a few online idiots is much easier to carry than losing a contact.
Hmmm well never been here before but went thru the site you seem to have all the articles I have to go to a few sites to find all on one site so I’m gonna start coming here more and see where things go.
Good Luck!!
What can I say that hasn’t already been put out there… Keep the information coming and thanks.
I don’t know… maybe the new direction will be good, but will be just another informative gaming site and not what make you people particular and unique. Almost everybody came here for your insider news, that’s why I came here and keep visiting your site.
Just let’s see how will be everything before talking…
Hi,
My name is Sven and I’m from Belgium, as we don’t have many (good) sites dedicated to the ps 3, I’ve been coming around here a lot.
At 36 years old, I’m a returning gamer, I’ve just recently bought my PS3, because i was looking for a good mediaplayer to connect to my tv. Getting to play GTA IV and Gt prologue is just an extra bonus (may i add that i’ll kick most of your @$$es on multiplayer GT-prologue).
I’m looking forward to the direction this site is taking, I’m absolutely more in the lifestyle aspect of the ps3 than purely gaming.
I hope we’ll get more info on the awesome power of the ps3 besides the games.
Keep on entertaining us, and good luck with the ‘rebirth’
Greetings
Sven

Race clean!
I think this is a great decision on your part. As much as I liked the leaked stories, it makes sense from a business standpoint not to bite the hand that feeds you. Besides if you are on the side of the developers then they will be there for you with exclusive stories and interviews. Good luck going forward and I look forward to see the new direction your taking.
@Jaxx377,
NAILED it.
Seems like you have been assimilated. Its always been wierd to me how games journalism has always been TOTALLY different from traditional journalism in the fact that its a product based and revolves around carefully vetted relationships.
I say bite away because consumers deserve to know whatever is available to them. Not in a sensationalist kind of way, but if it is going to influcence a purchasing decision, as consumers they deserve any information to make that decision.
I think the leakfest will continue elsewhere and there is nothing the industry can do to stop that. If this choice of no leaks is yours and not made out of fear of losing favor with industry insiders then great. But don’t think for a minute sites like Joystiq or Kotaku would ever consider not publishing a well placed source fart
