PSN Down For Maintenance Later Tonight

Yes, there will be maintenance tonight. At least if you believe what Konami has stated here. For those that don’t want to click the link:
“PSN” Maintenance Between the hours of 08:00-10:00 on 07/30/2008 (PDT), maitenance work will be carried out on the “PLAYSTATION Network”. The effects are as below: 1) All functions on the “PLAYSTATION Network” including the “PLAYSTATION Store” will be offline for the entire duration of the times descried above. We would like to apologize for any inconveniences caused.
Some are saying that there is a Home update tonight. Others are saying that this is definite proof that Life with Playstation is coming tomorrow. Either and both could be true. In fact the latter is true. Some have gone as far as to say that Home is coming tomorrow. I seriously doubt it. I expect a great deal more fanfare and Open Beta is scheduled for the Fall. Do keep your eyes open for news about the expanded Beta. Sony did say that news would be coming this summer regarding it.

Regarding the Home beta. I guess there will be an update to Home tomorrow, and that current Betatesters will test it, then they will expand the closed beta. The EU forums have recently had a sign up for betas.
When does summer end and fall begin? I’m kinda confused and think they are running out of time. Well hopefully we’ll see something. I have no idea what’s going on but Sony generally has something big ready when stuff like this happens.

@MakaiOokami summer ends Sept. 19th fall starts the next day… Sept. 20th then goes to Dec 21st and during fall the Tokyo Game Show is in October 9-12th (OPEN BETA may launch at or during show).
That’s some interesting news……..maybe they are getting ready to open up the closed beta….maybe not…who knows these days
I think Europe/Japan will get the extended Beta before OPEN Beta and the rest of the world gets Open Beta in the Fall!!!

if they are going by military time then the maintenance is already over. if it waws tonight it would say 20:00-22:00. but thats if it were military time.
also the PS website has no mention of the service going down. so it may have happened this morning/afternoon well see in 20 minutes
just an update the servers are still up so it may have been this morning.
It was this morning 0800 means am. Look at their post above the maintenance one. They go by military time “2100″
08:00-10:00 means 8am to 10am
I highly doubt this is Home, unless Sony is going to pull a rabbit out its ass.
This is either just scheduled maintenance. or it is Life with PlayStation and yesterday’s 2.42 added features that would be used for this, but i doubt it. I would say just scheduled maintenance

hopefully life with playstation or else they lied to us. An home aint comin out yet there tryin to make it as close to perfect as possible.
