Continuing our newer personal direction here on PlayStation LifeStyle, I’ve decided to go ahead and share my top 10 impactful gaming moments! Click through for the countdown! (Possible spoiler for MGS4 ahead, be careful)

#9 - Doom 3 - Meeting a Cherub for the first time...nothing has ever made me flinch so hard as the first time I saw this little bastard coming at me

#8 - Diablo II - Andariel...seeing that nastiness come charging at me was my first real taste of the horrors in the world of Diablo II

#7 - Advent Rising - Using the incredible powers in this game was probably one of the most empowering experiences in my gaming life

#6 - The Darkness - Using the Demon Arm Darkness power...the pure viciousness of the Demon Arm shocked yet enthralled me at the same time

#5 - Command & Conquer: Red Alert - For those of you who remember this classic, my favorite moment would have to be using Tanya for the first time. Dual Colt .45's FTW!

#3 - Spider-Man 2 - The first game to really get it right...when I first stepped off that building in the very beginning, and shot my first web and started swinging...it was pure gaming bliss

#2 - Prey - In one of the beginning scenes, you walk through an area of the alien ship and see out of its mangled exterior into the vast expanse beyond, with the Earth in view. It truly put into perspective the futility of the player's position...breathtaking

#1 - Half-Life 2 - Using the gravity gun...it not only is extremely fun, but it represents an incredible leap forward for physics-based gaming, and has spurred the industry forward, setting a bar for expected physics implementation in games, present and future
the Spider-mans before S-m 1 on PS2 were great on PS1 also
MGS with the Psycho Mantis battle, still the most innovative boss battle I have ever encountered. And the story of Deus Ex, I can’t recall a game that made me stay up 3 days straight just because of the story.
MGS with Psycho Mantis, Gravity gun as mentioned above. Snake’s Microwave and…the most gruesome cutscene ever…Quake III (Strogg medical facility)….uuugh…..
My list will be up tomorrow.
SPOILER
Psycho Mantis is DEFINITELY included.
Piloting Rex in MGS4 was pretty insane
*MGS4 Spoiler*
REX VS RAY
PWNAGE For gaming history
MGS4 spoiler
The microwave scene was one of my favorite scenes in that game. Seeing everyone’s futility up top and Snake’s struggle down below was really intense.
*Major FF7 Spoiler below*
as if anyone who wants to play it hasn’t played it yet.
where’s Aerith’s Death scene in FF7?
THAT was memorable, that scene only, made me HATE septhiroth the first time I played FF7. I have never hated a villain that much as I did when septhiroth killed aerith
This is a personal list, not a “what other people think my favorites should be” list.
=)
Psycho Mantis on MGS
The opening on MGS3, and The End fight.
MG Rex on MGS4, achieving Big Boss Emblem on MGS4
and the real ending on MGS4 … u know, on the graveyard.
Nuclear Blast on CoD4 after rescuing the pilot.
FF VIII ending (i liked it more than FF VII)
Playing through Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Playing as a dog on Rise of the Triad … XD
also, excuse if I mistake in english, as i’m from Barcelona.
It’s ok David, we can understand you just fine.
=D
My recent favorite moments on the PS3 have revolved around 2 games:
Captain Price sliding you the pistol at the end of COD4.
The nuclear detonation that kills character in COD4.
Snake putting the gun in his mouth in MGS4.
Snake arriving at Shadown Moses again in MGS4 Act 4.
And of course piloting MG Rex is just ridiculously awesome.

We try our best to provide information for both sides of the Atlantic.
C&C:RE was a great game. And #7 (Advent Rising) was badass, too. Thanks for the list, Guru.
Dude I remember playing with Tanya in C&C: Red Alert. Amazing. Didn’t she also plant bombs and run away.
Never played Advent Rising, might have to after your description of it.
BTW, LOVED the article. The “polaroid” look to the list with each of the images and the descriptions – pure awesome. Please everyone use this format when creating your own lists here in the future.
Great article Linux.
Sneak Peek at my article in the future: AC-130 Gunship from COD4 & one of my first games ever – Maniac Mansion on the PC.
every moment in each of the God of War games is whats best in all of gameing history for me anyway
