The Search for My Gaming Girl Begins
A little while ago I wrote an article about the lack of girls that are interested in gaming. To be more specific, it was about my desire that was interested in gaming and could be my friend, sorta. Lol. The first responses were guys that understood my plight. I was so happy to read the responses from girl gamers. They made themselves known and they gave me ideas of where to begin my search for my gaming girl.
Who wants to know what I’ve done since then? I have gone back and forth about how to start the search for a gaming girl using the advice that I have received. I went to a few Gamestops. That did not end as well as I would have liked. (Note to everyone: I think looking at the major malls in the area is better than the smaller stores. Of course that could just be the situation out here in Maryland.) I have not located any comic book stores. I will intensify that search. I do need to get caught up on Spider-Man. I have not searched the Internet forums for any gaming girls. I am considering it now. This search is for the good of gaming after all.
I have now decided to post a personal. My personal will be accompanied by an invitation to post what would be the perfect first date between a gaming guy and a gaming girl. You can say where we’ll go, what we’ll do, and anything else you can think of. This works well on two fronts. One, I may actually get to go on this gamer date with the nice young gaming girl that gives the blueprint for a perfect date. Two, I could just have the blueprint and eventually use it when I meet the gaming girl of my dreams. Sounds like a win for everyone involved.
This is not a competition or a contest. Then again I guess it could be. I don’t know what it is. Lol, just know that this is a first. The last time I listed what I’d like to see in my gaming girl. This time, I will tell you about myself. There is also some info in my author bio, but this will include other good info.
- I love anime. Mostly the action stuff, never really got into some of the non-action titles. I am currently reading Naruto (Seems like it is really called Sasuke) and Bleach.
- I am a Blu-Ray collector. I refuse to buy DVDs.
- I am a 2nd year law student at Georgetown. I frequently visit my home state of California. I also go to Georgia regularly. NY is a 4 hr ride north. I plan on going there more frequently this year. Have to see my Yankees win. Poor Chamberlain. (don’t laugh at our injury Sev. The Red Sux are horrible).

Ladies and Gentlemen, feel free to critique. We have to get this perfect. This is my epic search for my gaming girl after all. Ladies, I am counting on you. You all gave me hope with the last article.

do you have facebook because in one of my OPM UK mags it mentions a group on there called girls that play guitar hero and said its a good place to find gaming girls also it has a page about the “miss video game contest” there might be something on there

You should go to Wal-mart or like Olan Mills at the mall and get some hilarious glamour photos taken of yourself and then post them here. It’s honestly great. We used to do that in college for Christmas cards. Do it.

The perfect gamer date… hmmm…….
My girlfriend and I enjoy Dave and Busters (or Jilians or whatever eatery arcade there happens to be). After that if you have somewhere scenic to go and walk and talk about your jobs or interests other than games, that could work out nicely, depending on the girl. First dates are interviews anyway, so if you aren’t looking for a one night “Game Session” then I would suggest getting to know her somewhat.
Gamer girls, IMO, at least where I live, which is Kentucky (don’t laugh) LOVE to watch live rock music. It’s not very personal, but a fun date can totally over write the fact that you don’t really know each other that well. Again, this all depends on the style you choose to approach this with, if you are truly interested in finding someone worthwhile, then I don’t suggest the bar scenario.

i wish i lived in kentucky, i love rock music and in england all the girls try to be “gangstas” or chavs which we call em lol, this search your doing would be impossible in england, thats why when i go university im gonna go back up to scotland.

Might I suggest a regular girl…EX: My wife was not a gamer when I met her but now she loves watching me play and playing certain games: Guitar Hero/Rock Band.(I can’t beat her anymore) Her newest obsession is ELEFUNK. She thought MGS4 was the best game yet, and is waiting for GOW3.

On gametrailers theres a gaming girls section and in that section theres a video on tips that will help you make your girlfriend into a gamer and trust me there are hot gamers, for example this hot gamer, its the same person in both pictures so dont get the wrong idea

I still remember watching my now wife beat Legend of Zelda on her NES when we first got together. When it challenged her to the masters quest she took it personally. I watched her beat that as well.
We play tetris ds in bed quite often and I catch her playing Dr Mario online sometimes when I go to bed early.
Is it as awesome as it sounds. You bet your ass. I did not know however, when we got together, that she was a gamer.

good luck with that, i think you will find what your looking for but remember, no need to rush.
You should just find someone like my girl, she does not really play games or watch anime, but she will sit there for hours at a time and just watch me game, its amazing. She LOVES watching me play my games and poking fun at me sometimes for the losing

Kentucky has more redneck than Rocker but there is a huge rock scene here in the Eastern US. If you want to see local rock talent in Kentucky, check out Glasspaper on You Tube, I’m the lead singer. The reason I said not to laugh is because I know most people view this State as a hillbilly backwater, no shoe wearing, dip chewing, cousin screwin’, society. That’s somewhat the case in parts, but there is a really cool college scene here as well.
In seeing some of the other posts, I have to agree that getting a girl used to gaming is also an option. PixelJunk Monsters is a 2p co-op game that me and my girl play nightly for an hour or so. She also likes eden and calling all cars. PSN games seem to really do it for her and her freinds. Get your girl a DS. It’s eases them into gaming with easy to learn applications and works them into harder fare.

I hate Anime and games for the wide audience.I like brutal bloody hardcore games like God of war and I like to play alone.My favourite band is disturbed.God of war and disturbed goes well with my character and my lone wolf mentality.

I turned my girlfriend into at least a lite gamer. But she now understands my gaming obsession better. Hint PSP and DS are good gifts for the lady! She may never play RFoM2 or MGS4 but there are plenty of other games we enjoy together now. She is dieing to play Buzz! and Little Big Planet.

I was able to get one of my old girlfriends to play through the entire Co-Op campaign for Resistance Fall of Man. I also heard from an old High School teacher of mine that he and his wife beat Halo 3 on the legendary difficulty… TOGETHER.

Stalking, that’s not bad, you should send an idea of what instruments you may like and the mood you want to try to set for you casts to my E-mail (I’m sure you can get it, as it’s required to post. I could work up three or four segments and see if any fit your ideal.
By mood, I mean do you want it dark, bright and cheerful. Do you want a jingle, something catchy, or do you want a personalized message? You get my drift. Send me an Idea, and I’ll record it (I own my mini all digital studio).

Lot’s of good ideas have been shared here, I wish you the best in finding someone to hang out with. IMO that is where it has to start with a gamer girl. Where to find one? I’m not sure on that one. Finding anyone is luck based anyway and there are porn stars who are gamers, although I wouldn’t recommend going to a brothel to try to find a good gamer girl. Making points through dirty anologies can be fun!!! Have you tried to find a good girl in Japan??

No, but I met my girl at a show a year ago. She didn’t want to be there, but she seemed to really enjoy my band, then BOOM. We hooked up and luckily she is a gamer chick now. I have been in a band for 8 years. This one for about 2 years now. Took that whole time to write about 5 songs. I had 7 songs from my previous band attempts. This is the last one though. If this tanks, I’m going solo most likely.
On topic again. I still think meeting a girl in a bar is a bad place to meet one that will last. My girl hasn’t been back to the bar since we met other than my shows.

Solo as in trying something new. I’m not really all that mainstream, so I would have to go against the grain acoustic with maybe a cello player that travels with me and a bassists… Who knows? Maybe just no drums is probably what I’d end up doing. Make it a classical feel with a dark message.
@chris :That’s another thing I didn’t even think about. Some of the best dates I’ve been on were when I travelled to New York and saw plays. You say you are not that far from there, and they have really good plays. If you are one of those artsy fartsy types, which I am. Gamer girls I think would tend to be as well. Gaming is an art form, and I think that some girls appreciate that as much as anything else.

@Chris SS hit it right on the money with the glamour shots for your pics. I think making a video blog would be a great idea . I’m guessing the girls out there that are real gaming chicks, are also the kind of girl that are into posting viedos on youtube and etc. You could have a dating game show using webcams! Forget the comic book stores and plays in new york. I believe the girl your looking for is on the net. This will take a lot of effort and time. (especially if she has to meet your requirements from your 1st post)
