Did you buy the mic for Singstar, but didn’t want to have to buy the mic for Rock Band 2 as well? Were you going to buy Rock Band 2 and the accompanying instruments, but didn’t want to have to buy the entire package for Guitar Hero: World Tour? Guess what. Sony was looking out for you.
PS. Konami is not left out of the fun. The instruments will be compatible with Rock Revolution as well.
A recent blog post has indicated that Sony is ensuring that PS3 users will have the ability to enjoy the upcoming music games without having to spend a fortune. You have to have heard someone ask which title should they get. No one really wants to spend all of their Christmas budget on these two titles alone.
Sony said an announcement for compatibility between the current music titles will arrive when the feature arrives. Color me impressed. Do you think this will sway multiconsole owners to purchase the PS3 version of these upcoming titles?

Good, now I can just buy the regular version of RB and take advantage of their songlist without buying the stupid drumset.

That’s pretty awesome!

I have both systems but have canned my 360 until some RPG’s come. I will certainly be buying Guitar Hero World Tour on PS3. I would bet that it will help the multiple console shift to PS3. But really, if you own both systems, I don’t see it as a choice, it’s always PS3.

What about past music games? The only thing preventing me from getting Guitar Hero 3 is the fact I have to get another guitar when I already have two Rock Band guitars.

Good news, now I might actually buy GH and RB… or just rent one for the Trophies.

Does anyone know if the Wii rockband instruments will work for a ps3?

Very smart move on Sony’s part. I know Konami earlier that they arent even making a guitar and to just use Guitar Hero’s.

Cant confirm it, but no.
This makes it a much easier choice for me when they come out. I was finally going to jump on the music games’ bandwagon but just didnt know which. Now I can just buy all three!

THis is a big deal. If you recall the GH makers didnt want their guitars to work on rock band, basically to keep their sales as high as possible. I know it pissed me off when i couldnt use my GH3 guitar with RB. At least Sony has stood their ground and made this happen. Now lets pray that the patch the old games to recognize this as well, not just on the next series of games they release.

I love you Sony. Thanks for looking out for us when Activision were being mean to Harmonix and us.
