TedtheDog’s comments regarding the release of the Home Open Beta were originally thought to mean that it would be released this month. For those of you that did not read the statement:
“2.5 is what we’re waiting for and ‘October’ is what I’ve heard, later October is my guess.”
That is rather easy to misunderstand. Here is how TedtheDog rectified the situation:
“Open beta will be later this year after 2.5 is released. Sorry about that, I should know better than to say anything that could be misconstrued like that on such an important subject.”
This does still keep the idea of Firmware 2.5 coming later this month alive. One thing does remain consistent, Sony is saying that the Open beta will be this year.

Ahahahaa! More waiting. I’m glad I got a little taste of it (a friend let me use his account to go to the beta). It’s pretty boring right now, so I’m not too disappointed to hear this update. None the less, thanks for the news, Pheonix!

Oops! Anyway, I’ve been good. Sorry for not posting many replies lately; I recently got my laptop back from much needed repairs: a couple broken keys, busted power jack, new battery… it bounced out by book bag while recovering from hitting a pothole on my bike about a month ago. Luckily, one of my old college buddies has his own computer repair shop, so it cost me next to nothing for the repairs (he only charged me 1/2 price for the labor). I really dodged a bullet on that one. Next time I ought to avoid the pothole, though

That’s the way I always read that leak. Well I would consider that FW v2.50 should be released before SoCom because it is supposed to contain the code needed to for the BT mic that Sony is releasing at the same time… And considering since later in October was not firm and a guess it could be out sooner rather than later…

Sorry to hear about your laptop. I’m happy to hear that you were able to get it fixed. You definitely do need to avoid those potholes, they are insane. Are you ready to buy all of these great upcoming games?

Yeah, dude. BioShock is at the top of my list. I think I’ll rent Saint’s Row 2 first to see if I like it, but I have a feeling I’ll end up buying it; it looks like everything GTA:IV online failed to be.
