Firmware 2.50 Brings Flash 9 Support

You read right, I promise. The latest firmware update is bringing the long awaited browser improvement that everyone has been requesting. Eurogamer was kind enough to share this with everyone. Improved flash support will further inccrease the browser capabilities and further establishes the PS3 as the multimedia console of this generation.
Firmware 2.50 was officially announced by Eric Lempel yesterday. An official release date hasn’t been announced as of yet. Since this update gives greater bluetooth headset support and support to the official headset, the Socom Bundles being released today would make you believe that the update should go live sometime today. No promises.

This is the holy grail of updates. Well not really, but its a excellent update, with many features I had been hoping for.

Now we can finally watch vids on all of our favorite sites
Three Speech has confirmed Flash 9 support and Release date of 15th of October via a SCEE Press Release.
HaHa Eveyones thinking about certain sites we need flash to work on lol but for now type in gutter porn in google, it works!
I just checked with Gamestop and I guess Socom will not be avalible till tomorrow so I guess the 15th sounds about right. O well at least the headset will work when I get the game now.

I’m just glad Yahoo.com will work now.
And you can now browse the Sony Playstation site with out losing the flash content in the top center of the page, you know the ps3, psp and ps2 buttons. It gets to be incredible that the browser for almost a year could not work on Sony’s own Playstation site. It is great that now it will finally get fixed, hopefully they will stay current with flash as it goes forward or have a technology advances.
