I love the new account management… so quick now and more easy indeed. The flash videos running nice and fast and the scene search really needed.
Another thing is cool is the last sign in thing an the % of your level but I doesn’t know if I like now the small icons in the store but thanks god they get rid of the PSN icon; that let make looks ugly with two icons.
Small additions that make a big change to me. The win for me goes to the account management and maybe 2nd the flash 9 and scene search.

Wow,2.5 has really speed up things. My friends list is super fast, and everything else seems to come up a lot quicker.Love the new changes to trophies.

Agree, the speed increase is awesome. Was the flash in the browser updated? Yahoo.com still isn’t appearing properly.

Something I found… now you can zoom in the browser of Life with PlayStation. It’s really new isn’t, it’s just that I never use LwP since Puerto Rico isn’t listened in the channels.
Now I will go to sleep that the mere mortals need to go to work.

something strange that i’ve noticed after the update. white truely not a big deal, now when you are typing and complete the last word of a sentence using the word finder on the right hand side, it still automatically ads a space, but no longer sets the periods or exclaimation points (what have you) next to the last letter when you hit triangle again. i got so used to it and now it’s gone. why would they do that? i hope most of you understand what i mean. but like i said, no big deal.

Has anyone noticed the option about Divx VOD yet?
October 15th, 2008 at 8:57 AM
I love the new trophyfeatures and account management, but when you open messages you got, you can answer them right away because it takes some time to load the profile picture. Anyone else experienced that?

In addition to account creation changes, here are the other adjustments:
[BD/DVD Settings] has been renamed as [Video Settings].
Under [Video Settings], the [Cinema Conversion] and [Upscale] options have been renamed as [BD/DVD Cinema Conversion] and [BD/DVD Upscaler], respectively.
[Sequential Playback] and [50 Hz Video Output] have been added as options under [Video Settings].
[DivX® VOD Registration Code] has been added under [System Settings]. You must use this registration code to authenticate and register the PS3 system to be able to play video files that are compatible with the DivX® VOD (Video On Demand) service on your system. For details, visit divx.com/vod/
[Power Save Settings] has been added as an option under Settings. To save power, the PS3 system and Wireless controllers can be set to turn off automatically after a certain period of inactivity.
Under [Accessory Settings] > [Audio Device Settings], the method for reconnecting Bluetooth® devices has been changed.
Under [Accessory Settings] > [Keyboard Type], you can now choose the following keyboard types: [German Keyboard (Switzerland)], [French Keyboard (Canada)] and [French Keyboard (Switzerland)].
In the keyboard layout for [German Keyboard], the “Y” and “Z” keys have been switched and the “Q” and “A” keys have been switched.

[Scene Search] has been added as an option on the control panel.
You can now use the [Mosquito Noise Reduction] setting for video content that is saved on the hard disk or storage media. Use this setting to reduce mosquito noise that appears on the edges of visual images.
During BD (BDAV) and DVD playback, a technique known as “chroma upsampling” is now automatically selected based on the movement of objects within the video content and then applied to enhance images in the content.
Game
[Sync with Server] has been added as an option under [Trophy Collection].
By pressing the PS button while playing PLAYSTATION 3 format software, you can now view information from the [Settings and Connection Status List] option under [Network Settings].*

Thank you Stalking Silence and Sev,
This is an awesome addition to the system. I enjoy having an already fantastic system get better over time… Sony may have been slow off the mark, but dayem they come up with the goods in the end!
Now I just hope for PlayTV to make a speedy appearance into the consumer market and I’m set!

I also found out that if you send someone a friend a request now and then you go to look down on your xmb list to see if there still pending you can now see that PSN users icon!
October 15th, 2008 at 5:14 PM
elias, can you also read people’s friend request messages after you’ve accepted them?
i hate not being able to see why the person wanted to add me. it didn’t used to display under the message list. Curious if it does now?

LOVE the new account management features and that it’s no longer a web based option. Anyone notice the little “Playstation Store” title that appears just before the store actually loads? I actually like and appreciate that.
I was watching the debates so I haven’t dug all the way through all the features just yet but so far I think the update is really good. It still takes a long time for trophies to come up but otherwise it’s a great update.
Good job Sony and make sure MGS4 stays on the PLAYSTATION3!!! Sorry, I mean “Playstation 3″
