The LittleBigPlanet developers are taking no time off to celebrate their big win at the SPIKE Video Game Awards. They’ve let us in on a little secret:
“we’ve been working hard recently getting the secret project ready…”
When asked for some clarification, Jim from Media Molecule responded,
“the people in charge would have my thumbs if I was to say anything more.”
Is it a game space for LittleBigPlanet in Home? Release date for online CREATE mode? Re-instatement announcement of the Play/Create/Share points? LittleBigPSP details? North American announcement of the Christmas-themed “Festive Goodies Pack” that includes not only new costumes but also new stickers, decorations, and objects? [Update: Or something completely different]
We’re thinking it’s the last one, based on the information LittleBigLand dug up and tipped us about on the Hong Kong PS Store website – but we would LOVE to be wrong!

they need to fix some bugs with LBP first, I can’t even make a level without it crumbling on itself do to bugs.
Updated story. I’m looking into it…
It’s possible this “secret project” is the first patch for the game. They are trying to roll up a lot of fixes into one so that the patch goes through QA easily and hits globally.
when is it suppose to be released?
I don’t know… but it sounds soon. They are “getting it ready” as opposed to “starting work on a secret project” – their word choice seems to indicate a release, or release date annoucement at the least, is imminent.
Maybe also the image importing tool or in-game YouTube uploading support we had heard a while back.
If there is a God, then it is online creation mode.
Well they’ve already confirmed that they’re working on LBP for PSP, Image importing has been confirmed long ago, Create mode online is being worked on and that there is extensive LBP DLC including map packs coming to LBP.
So if it really is a secret, then it had better be good!

Oh no – we weren’t at the awards asking questions. That’d be pretty cool – but that link was to Jeff Rubenstein of the PlayStation.Blog asking questions.
We got our information from one of Media Molecule’s community managers who posts on their blog! Not quite as cool…
Pssst… I just updated the article. Look at the eurogamer link. I know it’s old, but this might be something bigger than a patch or DLC.
I hope it’s something more than just a Christmas pack.

I think it will be something new, I read in an important magazine (Don’t remember if it’s PTOM or GI), saying that Sony has a deal for 3 game with MM each one being a new franchise.
