US SingStore Update for 16 December 2008

This week's US SingStore Update
NOTE: The update may not go live until 18 December 2008.
In addition to the patch (now live) to allow disc-swapping and audio/video recording of legacy PS2 SingStar titles, we’ll be seeing a pretty significant update to the US SingStore this week. The update includes 10 songs from this week’s European SingStore update, 10 songs from previous European SingStore updates, and the Festive Fun (Christmas) Song Pack.

Wow, disc swapping? That is pretty damn cool…
I might have to go an buy some of the old SingStar games now.
I do have one question though…
If the model PS3 doesn’t support PS2 games, then how will it read the PS2 SingStar discs?

It’s not emulating the game and running the game – it’s reading data off the discs. PS2 games are DVDs and all PS3s can play DVDs, regardless of backward compatibility.

Wait, if I buy those Christmas songs, does that mean they’ll come up in the rotation all year long when I’m playing with friends? That sounds awful and I’d hate to have that happen.

I hope us Europeans (or in my case Australians) get the update. This Heart Attack!!!! I gotta get away not coming back!

This game is published by SCEE, right? There is a separate European update. Just change the URL to say en-gb instead of en-us. i think that does it.

hi there,my singstar & singstar vol.2 is now version 2.30…
after purchasing more than 20 songs during last weekend and donwload&installed it into my HDD,the game freezes!!
it freeze at the part when u want to choose a song to sing,a pop-up box appears and says “Updating songs-please wait”,mine stops at 25% and theres nothing i can do…any button i press doesnt change anything,only the PS button can be used..so now,im unable able to play both my Singstar & Singstar Vol.2 at all!
can somebody pleeease help me!!

Does anyone know when this update will actually be released?
My wife is not very happy with the delay(?)

I have been looking through ps3 singstore for some time now…I agree that there have been some updates but when will we get some new music in genres such as R&B and Pop….
