Why is there no option for “I’m not getting the game, because it doesn’t have split-screen”?

I certainly wouldn’t pass up the game for split screen. Looking at the graphics of Killzone 2 would easily explain why there isn’t four player split screen. This will be the marquee shooter of the year on playstation.

Sadly I won’t be buying the game initialy, I’m gonna game fly it fa sho though. Can’t afford to buy it right now, damn student loans
i dont know.. this game looks amazing. Gameplay, and graphic-wise. But no split screen is a bit of a let down, because my friends and cousins are always over playing with me. Hopefully that patch that LadyKiller is talking about will come soon after launch.
Devon… You won’t be able to rent the game probably. You gotta remember, if there are a lot of people wanting it (there will be) it’ll be skipped in your Queue. I quit Gamefly after seeing 7 of the games I wanted skipped and got a game I didn’t want at the time.
IluvPS3… If Split-screen is so important to you that you won’t get a game that doesn’t have it, you’re missing out for such a minor reason. The reason why split screen is not supported, is because the amount of graphical processing for 2 people in different areas would be impossible on today’s current-gen. You are literally saying that you will pass up on any game that actually uses the potential of the PS3 because you want to play with someone on the couch next to you on the same t.v. getting a smaller portion of screen to play with than most of the other people playing, thus making it more difficult and less visually enjoyable as well as having conflicting 7.1 surround sound that will probably end up messing you guys up in multiplayer anyway on a non run and gun game where team work is essential… Goodluck with that. This game is being compared to the likes of being better than Crisis graphically and oblitering it in gameplay.
My option is actually different. Even though I went out of my way to avoid killzone 2 footage, the killzone 2 hype machine was too much and I got swept up in it. Quite frankly Resistance 2 and Uncharted got me back into the shooter genre, and Killzone 2 is just too awesome for even me to avoid. This game may just make me take back all the things I ever said about the Shooter Genre. Question is, will it keep me coming back to the multiplayer like no other could?
Also the co-op patch (I believe) is for online only. I don’t think that there will be any remote chance of any form of split screen without somehow patching in a way to downscale the graphics so much that the PS3 doesn’t end up looking like a low end PC trying to run Crisis on high.

lol i like how this is not asking if you are getting it or not. You guys all ready know everyone is getting it. But the only thing that is bad about this game is spilt screen. WHEN WILL DEVS LEARN ThAT OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no split screen does suck but ill be picking this up no matter what. the animations are crazy. bullet detection is crazy in this game. and the cover system looks good.
And as far as splitscreen goes…come on people. Killzone 2 will not be judged because of a most-likely temporary lack of splitscreen.
The actual elements that make up Killzone 2 are so impressive, that having splitscreen doesn’t matter to me, to be honest.
Bond2e2 when will you learn to read the comments above and realize that it is impossible for them to retain this high level of detail and have split-screen this gen. (that’s what the 1 hour interview with a dev said at least)
Offline Multiplayer isn’t as important as online Multiplayer. ESPECIALLY in competetive. “Hey dude you sneak up behind the guy sitting next to me and snipe him from behind, oh wait he’s on to our strategy.”
I also don’t see how someone that doesn’t own this game is going to somehow be an amazing help to some of the best A.I. that’s out there. I mean this isn’t a game a Halo or Gears 2 fanatic is going to be able to just run though. This isn’t a run and gun game it’s a tactical shooter which means he’s going to need his own console to play on.
I honestly didn’t realize that split screen co-op was as relevant as you guys are making it out to sound… Of course I haven’t had friends for far too long.
I might try the demo from the EU store, and then decide whether to buy or not.

Graphics are the reason I’ll most likely be getting it. I played Killzone 1 and didn’t really like the online multiplayer. But I can’t wait to fire this game up on my TV.
Split Screen is an issue for me as well, although it’s not big enough to keep me from purchasing the game. If it were up to me, I’d rather have campaign co-op instead of awesome graphics. It’s the reason I enjoyed the first resistance so much, and the reason I hated resistance 2.
As for why I’m getting Killzone 2, I’m hoping it will offer a more rewarding online experience then what I’ve had with Resistance 2.

i just might pass on it for the first few weeks i dunno. the LE SF4 and LE joystick are going to rape my wallet.

I’m getting it because that’s what all the cool kids are doing. And because it looks badass.
Lack of split-screen is disappointing, but seems to be common these days. I’ve had to buy another PS3 and use Picture in Picture to create a “split screen” setup for most games. Of course, not everyone is as much of a gaming whore as me.
Animation- Shooting people will be so satisfying.

I enjoy singleplayer campaigns, but to tell the truth I’m a sucker for customizable, class based, battlefield type multiplayer. It looks like Killzone2 not only does it well, but does it in an interesting new way. I’d be lying if i said the sweet graphics don’t appeal to me, but I expect to be most impressed with the online.

I’m not sure if I want Killzone 2, although based on how much time they’ve put into it, it has to be good.

Like my boy, Clinton, I’ve been a fan since day 1. I had a blast with 1. Liberation looked very kool (I never had a chance to play it, I don’t own a PSP). I’ve had Killzone 2 pre-ordered & payed off for a year. That’s how bad I want it!!!
I’m still playing (and enjoying… and stuck) on the first Killzone.
Honestly, I don’t think you can own a PS3 and not own this game. This is our Halo. Our Mario. Our Sonic. Our Bonk (taking it back to the TurboGrafx days). That’s almost like not getting FFXIII when it comes out even if you loathe RPGs.
I think the other reason is that after all this time you just have to be curious what they spent 4+ years putting together.

KZ2 has such graphical prowess that I am sure Split Screen isn’t an option. Never fear! There is online play! This feature allows you to play with and against people and insures you get 100% of your screen real estate.
If you are not buying the game ONLY because it doesn’t have split screen you have to be crazy.

This will be my best game of 2009 anyway. I have killzone 1 and liberation so i can’nt wait for this. Graphics are to good to be true. Only thing that is not good is no split-screen. I have a brother you know. And it is fun to play together then play alone.
yes, like i said, no split screen is a let down, but not enough to stop me from buying the game. I play online mostly anyways..
MakaiOokami- Offline is just has important as online. I would make sure online is as good as it can be first but offline is important. I like hanging out with my friends and playing some video games.
