Word from Capcom’s blog is they have completely sold all launch inventory of Street Fighter IV. It seems they were completely taken off guard by such a high demand.

There ARE no more copies to sell on the store shelves. I heard from Ono-san himself last night that Capcom has a few boxes left in the basement that they’ll be sending out on Monday, but they were totally overwhelmed by the demand. Sales couldn’t have been any higher because every single day-one copy in the stores was been sold (!!!)

I’m actually pretty surprised that SF4 sold out. I figured that with so many people purchasing Super Street Fighter II HD Remix that it would put some people off towards purchasing another Street Fighter game.

it’s been 10 years, what do you expect.

Espeically in Japan, when an Arcade title is available on a console, it’s the top seller. I actually heard in the US, Collectors Edition of Street Fighter 4 is unavailable for PS3 now.

It seems because of the Xbox360′s lack of a D-pad (seriously it’s not) Street Fighter 4 for PS3 is in higher demand.

in Japan first day sales were
    Playstation 3 version : 58,000
    XBOX 360: 26,000

which actually surprised me as I was expecting Microsoft to be further behind in that territory.
