Yet another reason to be glad Sony chose Blu-Ray for the PS3…
In a response to a user on the Capcom-Unity forums asking about the bonus disc’s resolution and format, Capcom’s Chris Svensson confirms:
Here is the answer:
On 360 – it is a bonus DVD – standard DVD resolution
On PS3 – it is a bonus Blu-Ray Disc – yes, the content is HD on this disc.
So it seems as though Resident Evil 5 will pack some 1080p goodness on its bonus disc. If you have friends that were planning on getting it on the 360 over PS3, you now have a reason to talk them out of it.

Like I said on N4G, it kinda sucks for the 360, but at least they still get the content somehow, and we’re not getting shafted on our HD content.
gotta love that
FINALLY the ps3 gets something over the xbox. I can’t wait for this game
oooh Capcom how I love your special editions! picking up SFIV tomorrow and then Ill pick this up for the collection even though the demo was a bit lackluster. Thanks Sony for saving my pennies due to the lack of a Killzone CE… I wouldn’t have had any money to eat haha
bout time we get sumn lol
Good news, nice to see the game companies taken bonus content seriously and doing it in HD.
About time developers did this!
Well done Capcom!
hopefully yall were being sarcastic, cause i dont see the big deal, it’s bonus content lol….most gamers not even gonna watch it, they gonna be too busy playing games….

I love bonus content. Then again, I’m the guy who watches the special features on his Blu-Rays and actually listens to the commentary tracks (fun fact: the commentary on Ocean’s Eleven is HILARIOUS). That’s just what I do. And having such things in hi-def is important to me, given my setup.
It’s bonus content for the Special Edition lutha.
If someone JUST wanted to play the game, they’ll buy the normal edition….
Not extraordinary but, it’s the only thing that the PlayStation does have superiority in with this game. And it’s not something that anybody can shake a stick at either. Like graphics…
