According to vg247’s “trusted source” the PSP-4000 will be getting a complete aesthetic overhaul, including a sliding screen.
It’s safe to say that a PSP-4000 is coming, one our sources confirmed this a couple months ago. On top of that, there is the constant denial of the PSP2 by Sony, and the recent job posting at SCEJ for a hardware “tester”.
Out of all the new features the PSP-4000 will have, I most of all hope that they make it unable to be hacked, as I would like some developer support for a change.

I’d like one too, but I don’t know what I would do with it. Same thing with the current PSP, without content I’m not that interested.

that’s a hot pic, but it’s not real…..it’s some fanmade pic….hopefully the new psp will look something like that(hoping for 2 dual sticks)……cause it is time for a new psp, not just slight upgrades of the same version….

Right it’s a fan-made pic, but if you look at the comments in the source article, the author of that article said his insider pointed to the fan-made pic as a good example of what it would look like.

Do I spy 2 analog sticks? I think I do. Even though it’s a fan made picture, I still like it, especially if what StalkingSilence said. I don’t much care how different it looks from the previous PSP’s, just that there are two sticks.

I’d like to see an analog stick and a trackball. Just sayin, would be pretty unique.

I feel the same way as SolidCake. As it stands my current PSP just sits at home collecting dust. The only game I picked up was GTA and GOW. Unless they create some innovative way for the new PSP to interact with the PS3 I probably won’t be picking it up.

this rumor and the touchscreen rumor are both kind of sketchy. ill wait for an official release before i get excited

Well, it’s been a while I used the PSP since I had the PS3. The psp have just one really good game to me every year and the ps3 have a lot and more 3rd party support. They need a new psp that can’t be so easy to hack and the 3rd party developers will use the psp more for games.
Anyway on topic… maybe the sliding screen thing is just to hide the new keyboard that they said will be available this year. The same psp with the keyboard when you open up the screen. Maybe not, look the us gps.. where are you?

Unless it has about 8 gigs of built-in memory then i’m not interested.
