Last night Guerrilla Games took notice of some truly skilled players shooting up the ranks (pun intended). As it turns out, there was some exploitation with the online bots feature. Servers were setup with an obscene amount of bots in order to create a Helghast or ISA shooting gallery. Guerrilla had this to say…
“We’re disabling the ability to add bots to online games as a temporary measure against rank-up abuse. A permanent solution is forthcoming.”
Hopefully this feature isn’t completely nixed in the permanent solution. More than likely they will make bots a feature for un-ranked matches only.

Hopefully they do something to the people who abused this (rest their stats, or remove the botted games from the stats). It’s an extremely unfair advantage that those players have, especially considering many people are trying to get the Weekly ranks this week.
Stuff like this is the reason why I hardly ever play online anymore. I used to play Resistance 1 online all the time and had a lot of fun, but there were a lot of glitchers and laggers. Everyone seemed to be so concerned about online stats that they’d cheat. Some of them would even be invisible. You’d be running along and then POW! You die for seemingly no reason at all.
Every time something happens that cracks down on online cheaters or stat nazis, I’m happy.
Just limit the amount of bots that can be set up, as well as where. Don’t disable the feature completely.
Losers…
Cheating for stats since shortly after pong. O_o
Seriously get some fucking trophies… That’s what they were made for. If you’re e-penis needs to be bigger than that, you don’t have a real 1.
It’s a difficult thing to fix
On the one hand, you can easily not give stats for killing bots (no XP/ribbons etc either) that sounds simple enough, but;
That lets people get ribbons and medals easily against poor quality bots…
I say, unranked only and strip everyone’s rank of the games they played against bots (if it was half or over of the total players in the room)
I hate cheaters, they can get bent!

I hope they keep this feature in unranked matches. I’m tired of cheaters.
I say bring the bots back! it made the online matches more interesting
Yeah it is kind of sad that these types can hack an online game but fail in math and science in school…
Thats going a bit far with stripping everyones rank if they played against bots, like me iv had to play against bots for the start when there was really empty rooms yet iv never cheated.
Keep the bots. Waaaaaaa! about the rank.
Not really, in any Military organization when people break the rules of engagement there are consequences. One is stripping rank from sargeant to private etc. If they are to stay to the Military theme then they should carry out the same style of punishments…
