The current economic woes that the world is enduring has caused several companies to fold in the recent months. Other companies have decided to make some changes in order to better deal with these awful times. Sony is doing the latter. The company is creating 2 new divisions that will better allow the company to manage its various businesses. The one that is of greatest interest to us is the one that Kaz Hirai is heading up. This division will manage Vaio PCs and the PlayStation brand. Maybe the PS4 will be a computer after all?
The hopes behind these moves are new opportunities for synergy within the company. The better use of resources will certainly save Sony a pretty penny. Hopefully there will be the expansion of experiences across the various platforms that Sony has to offer. I’m sure someone that owns a Vaio wouldn’t mind a bit of PlayStation flavor along with it. Hopefully several of the divisions that were unable to work together peacefully in the past will come together and give us an experience like none other.

now the ps4 and the VAIO will be in the same machine. It will come with a wireless keyboard, be able to run windows and OSX, and has the technology to play xbox games.
Maybe I should apply for a job with Sony.
That would be awesome to have a real gaming console that’s more like a computer. I would definitely get it. I heard about the slim PS3 and I really don’t care for that idea – who actually takes their ps3 everywhere? It just stays in my room as a bluray player and collects dust. Also, why buy it if in 2011 the next generation of gaming is born? I’m definitely going to wait. Maybe I’ll put off buying a computer, too, just to save more money..
Or maybe the VAIO PC’s will come with Cell processors and blow all computers out of the water. Well at least Gaming PC’s.
I can see it now a dual Cell desktop rated at TFlops of output and 4gb DDR3 3.2ghz RAM with a 160gb HDD outperforms all game systems on the market in the MASS EFFECT test on computer comparisons…
And Sony Bravia LCD TV’s come with a Cell Broadband chips pre-installed to run Playstation software…
As a tester for next-gen consoles. That is.
