February was an excellent month SCEJ and Yakuza 3 has really proven to be a powerhouse title for the PS3 in Japan. The title sold more then 370,000 units and helped move more then 36,000 PS3 consoles in the land of the rising sun.
This is great momentum for the PS3, which recently had some competition from the JRPG courting Xbox 360. The Wii amazingly was in a distant 4th place. Overall the PlayStation brand moved over 77,000 units of hardware in the short month of February.

Stupid DSI… are there even any decent games coming out for it?
At any case… hopefully 1 very specific company will look at this and go “Well Star Ocean Last Hope needs a PS3 release”
They know who they are… O_o

look at the 360, one strong week and then back to obscurity. Square Enix needs to realize they are idiots for siding with the 360 and start giving some PS3 support.

Good news, but not unheard of in Japan for PS3 to take top spot.

Cool numbers. I played the Yakuza 3. I don’t read Japanese so all of the on screen prompts were useless but I still had fun. Supposedly Yakuza 3 is only in Japan and that it will remain there, but I’d buy an American version, even if it were just English text w/original Japanese voice-overs.

I agree Voyou, big mistake, it will hurt them in the long run.

im not one to bash developers but it seams this Generation squareenix has issues with the PS3, (programming wise) every other 3rd party and especially 1rst parties seam to have gotten out of the “PS3 is hard to program hole” except squarenix. it wouldn’t surprise me if Microsoft made all there games exclusive from them.

Like Sony said the only exclusivity you can trust/have are your own.
