Ratchet & Clank(R) and Resistance(TM) Creators win 8th award for best workplace.
BURBANK, Calif., March 10 /PRNewswire/ — Independent console videogames developer Insomniac Games has once again distinguished itself as being among the best studios to work for in the videogames industry and the entertainment business in general. Insomniac, creators of the multi-million selling Spyro the Dragon(R), Ratchet & Clank(R) and Resistance(TM) franchises exclusively for PlayStation(R) consoles, was recognized as the only videogame studio in this year’s Employers Group “California’s Best Places to Work” survey, ranking as the fifth best place to work in California.
The award represents the eighth “best workplace” honor that Insomniac has won since 2005. During that span, Insomniac has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Small Businesses to Work for in America for three-straight years by the Great Places to Work Institute, and won awards as one of the top best companies to work for in the California, Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas.
“Last year was an especially historic time for Insomniac in that we launched two successful games in one year while also laying the groundwork for our new North Carolina studio,” said Ted Price, Insomniac Games’ founder and CEO. “It’s therefore especially gratifying to earn such praise for our work culture considering the volume of activity and change we experienced. When we factor in the multitude of innovative companies populating the state this honor becomes even more humbling and special.”
Employers Group is a non-profit association founded in 1896, and recognizes the top companies in California to work for that have developed successful organizations with highly productive and satisfied workforces. The awards process was based on two components: Responses to questions about companies’ work environments, polices, practices, and benefits, as well as a survey of a random sample of employees.
Insomniac’s unique culture focuses on employee collaboration, contribution and recognition. Employees from all departments offer ideas and suggestions, and peer-recognition awards include tickets to concerts and sporting events. As part of Insomniac’s upcoming 15th anniversary celebration, employees and their significant others will be treated to an all-expenses paid cruise to the Bahamas. Insomniac also offers a highly competitive benefits package, royalty programs, and other perks such as a fully-stocked kitchen, catered lunches and massage therapy.
Insomniac, with nearly 200 employees and studios in both Burbank, CA and Raleigh, NC, continues to seek new employees in a variety of production-related positions.

boring.. note to insomniac, only tease stuff if it is about a game or DLC.. this kind of shit can just be announced, you need no hype.
I agree with Voyou San. I’m happy for Insomniac on this accomplishment but there’s really no need to tease the fans. I’m sure many were expecting greater things.
It’s not like Insomniac put a countdown page up or hyped this up in a podcast – they just twittered on their account about it. It’s everyone else’s fault for hyping up an announcement.
BTW, did you guys miss this part?
“Insomniac Games is currently developing an unannounced title, exclusively for PS3.”
Seems to me that is some good news. It can’t be Ratchet & Clank, since that was technically announced at the end of Quest For Booty.
Kind of a let down and after watching all of your comments I must say I agree on all of them lol :p
Cool to know that they are opening a studio in NC. Gonna send my sister up there she ‘s a digital artist of many talents.
LOL, damn I need to go to California. But yeah Insomniac, next time dont hype this shit up lol.
But, in the twitter its says:
Posting “some news” about insomniac
the “some news”, i dont know, maybe they have more news?
haha. lame
Adolson, we already knew they were doing another PS3 exclusive game.
and there was no reason for them to even mention it on their twitter because they know everyone will take it as something major.
@DGR
I live about 20mins away from the new studio and Epic games. Can’t wait to check it out on a community day.
Well yeah, since the “unannounced” game actually IS the next Ratchet game, we did know. But they weren’t clear about it in the presser, and other news outlets reported this “exclusivity” line as news due to the fact that there was speculation that Insomniac was going multi-platform.
Anyhow, they can do whatever they want to do on their twitter account. It’s THEIR twitter account, isn’t it? Plus, it’s big news to them, so just because you can’t appreciate it and got your hopes up for nothing, doesn’t mean they suddenly need to censor themselves. Geez.
yes actually they should.
That’s it?
lol that was kinda stupid,im happy 4 them but they shouldnt hav teased us like dat
I agree, “non earth shattering” hire the twit who mentioned it
Insomniac! Make the first game development studio in Puerto Rico!
Congratulations Insomniacs. What about Puerto Rico KnaveX? I didn’t know that, I live there.
You guys crack me up.
I wonder if they mean the new Ratchet and clank game or just a completely new IP, if that’s the case then I think it will be a PlayStation store game.
[...] PlayStation 3 title in the console’s three year age. With the independently-owned studio opening up a second developmental house on the east coast of the United States, it’s ludicrous to think the PlayStation-exclusive [...]
