Alex Evans Reveals Future Plans for LBP

03/14/2009 Written by JohnDraisey

In a recent interview with Gamasutra, Alex Evans was able to discuss future plans for his studio’s critically acclaimed title, LittleBigPlanet.

“…there’s so much stuff that we didn’t get in the game and that we’ve learned from watching 3.5 months of user-made levels.

Quite recently actually, we were bouncing ideas around… and then at a certain point, we’re like, “We’re gonna just take a character, we’re just gonna try this direction.” And I can’t say what it is, but it’s really fucking cool.

It’s a quite interesting thing because it was like a magnet. Everyone sort of [joined in] on that thing, then I suddenly saw these people kind of going, “Oh my god, far from being tired of LBP, I suddenly see this untapped potential.”

  1. LBP would be mucho more-o awesome-o with a sonic type speed pad, a gravity tools so you can make awesome levels ala mario galaxy, and also a tool that makes objects(and players) warp when stepped on, to another point, this would be cool cause it could also let you change layers. Still, im looking forward to this “fucking cool” thing. Love LBP!!!!

  2. Dan Massi says:

I like that gravity idea you said, Knave. It sounds pretty cool.

  3. I’m wondering if they’ll do something similar to Mario, like an LBP rpg or whatnot. I’m already loving the paintball MGS levels, so something entirely different would probably still work really well.

  4. I can’t wait to get some new stuff in LBP. It one of my favorite games.

  5. If you guys want try my level its for people that want to build there own mario level. i went through and created all the original mario characters pixel 4 pixel ….. and im working on the legend of zelda right now …. please heart me as an author
