In what seems like a growing trend, according to Gamestop, when you preorder Red Faction: Guerrilla you will get access to the demo starting April 3rd and ending April 23rd.
Now whether this is just giving you earlier access to the demo or exclusive access, we are not sure of at this time. We have seen this with Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and Patapon 2, and those demos eventually made their way to Playstation Store. So if this happens, then it’s not that big of a deal. But if you can only obtain the demo by pre-ordering the game, this promotion won’t make any sense. You would figure they would want to get this out to as many people as possible, in hopes that undecided gamers could get a chance to change their minds. Doing it this way really limits sales. They may see an increase in terms of preorders, but highly doubt it would have the same effect as making a demo available to the entire gaming community.
That is all we know at the moment, but as we find out more information we will report back on it.
demo should be free, and if you pre-order you should get a code for a snazzy new gun, or some stylish action-ware for Home.
i am sick of this kind of thinking. It was stupid when Killzone 2 did it and its just as stupid now. I never understood the logic behind giving a demo to people who have preordered the game. If you take the time to preorder a game, then you most likely really want the game and have already payed for it. A demo is supposed to be used to lure in people who are unsure of the game and maybe not going to spend the money on it.
Stupid.. plain stupid
I agree it is a stupid ploy. Although I am very excited about this game and its destructive environments. Hopefully it is more like the first Red Faction and not like the second.

I played the first faction and it was pretty awesome. I remember making holes in the walls and hiding inside waiting for the enemy to pass by.
lame.
