Unreal Tournament III, a multiplatform title also available for the PC and Xbox 360 platforms, has seen a lot more attention for its PS3 port than the 360′s offering. This means that the delayed-and-split Titan patch finally goes live tomorrow for the PS3. This is quite a massive update, and will include:
Says Lead Designer Steve Polge of the new Greed gametype:
Greed is a fast-paced, “tug of war” style mode in which you swipe the skulls of fallen players and unload them at the enemy base to score points. Silver skulls are worth a point, gold skulls represent five points, and red skulls are 20 points.
It’s common to see players fighting over huge hoards of skulls as the clock winds down. Each team always tries desperately to stop the other from scoring while, at the same time, fighting to survive en route to the enemy base with their own stockpile. It’s a complete frenzy, but no lead is insurmountable, and there is always hope for a comeback at the last second.
For an interesting twist, you can play Greed with the Titan mutator activated. In this scenario, the goals are the same except you can transform into a 15-foot Titan, which is handy for sowing mass destruction on opponents while protecting skull-toting teammates. To trigger the metamorphosis, simply fill your meter by killing enemies, capturing flags or nodes, and completing other game objectives.
This surely is one of the most elaborate pieces of absolutely free DLC out there, and should be well worth however long it takes you to download.

Also bumps trophies up to 57!
trophies have been out for a little bit now and spilt screen it is pretty tight, the game would have been so much better if they had offline co-op when it came out./ But it is still a lot of fun
cool, looking forward to it, sucks that action cam crashed the game in splitscreen, but still a good free update. Appreciated. Just wish they would add some melee to the game
I already bought this game. I made sure to buy it brand new so that Gamestop wasn’t getting all of the profit.
My only complaint is that they should have made this game downloadable like 3 months ago. Of course that’s more their loss since they can make more money with downloadable and a lot of people (including me) would love to not have to get up and change the disk for a game like this… It’s a great game… but the ability to give the money directly to them and Sony (no middle man store to take up profits) as well as to play it within seconds (and without cluttering up my overflowing case of games) would have been just awesome.
Like I said it’s more their loss, my inconvenience. If they release the game as a downloadable tomorrow, I’m going to be pissed though. Cause I bought the game last week. T_T
I’ll eventually sell it and repurchase it if that does happen though. Once I have room to set up a keyboard and mouse to my PS3 that game will get a lot more play.
Awesome I traded this in about 6 months ago, but I think I may try and find a cheap copy to try out the new features.
Can’t wait for the new maps..I forgot how good/fun this game was, trophies give me a reason to play it again
This should be on PSN, mainly because I traded my copy in a few months ago. It’s fun, but felt small to me, and it made me dizzy for some reason.
