SCEA’s Susan Panico gave some insight into the advantages of PSN development by focusing on PixelJunk Eden, Q-Games’ third PSN title. Panico stated, “PixelJunk Eden made its return on investment within 24 hours.”
All sales afterwards were pure profit. It’s very impressive that a small, independent studio was able to have so much success with the help of PlayStation Network, and is a testament to Sony’s ability to push digital distribution as a strong business model for development teams of any size.

thats crazy!!
There’s money to be made with PSN games!
I wonder if it would be able to now with the bandwith fees?
Yeah bandwith fees not cool, however free PSN for us very cool.
and they save a lot of money by not advertising anything, that’s where the real savings are.
That’s pretty impressive. They had a good mix of circumstances going for them: unique and quality game play, low game price, and especially the momentous success from Monsters which had already boosted them near the top of the PSN downloadable games list of best developers/studios. Maybe I’m stating the obvious, but Q-Games will probably be around for a while.
