Team ICO’s Mysterious PS3 Project Has Ico’s Soul

Team ICO’s legendary Lead Designer Fumito Ueda finally spoke today, during the “Evolving Game Design” panel. He was grilled for a few moments about the team’s next project, to which he responded:

“The Japan studio bosses are here so I can’t say anything specific, but it might be something similar to what’s been done. … The essence of the game is rather close to Ico.”

Talk about earth-shattering news. Perhaps new innovations will be thrown into this game (I know I’d love something along the lines of an online-enabled Shadow of the Colossus), but only time will tell. More news might make its rounds at GDC, but hopefully a lot more information will go live at E3…
