According to Kotaku the Mortal Kombat team, composed of 50 developers, are in discussion with other publishers.
According to Midway sources who wished to remain anonymous, said one of the catalysts for the move is a lack of payment in bonuses due to MK team members based on meeting Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe sales targets.
Sources say the Mortal Kombat team has become increasingly frustrated with Midway’s bankruptcy filing. MK also discussed issues with having to produce million unit-sellers in a bi-annual schedule.
Midway refused to comment on the current status of the Mortal Kombat team’s plans.

They need to deliver a Fatality to Mortal Kombat itself.

I haven’t played MK since it was in the arcades. That’s how bad the console ones have been.

They should have stopped making these games after #3.

Hahaha, I loved Ultimate MK3. Playing as Shiva was awesome, with her crazy hairdo and giggle attacks.

They need to go street fighter 4 style and go back to the 2d gameplay style which got them into the game. Mortal Kombat Trilogy characters and gameplay style and add some of the new characters from the newer games I would be all over it. I am no fan of the 3d fighting games. Too hard to have a game like MK in 3d and actually be worth anything. The MK vs DC was alright but at times the AI was just ridiculous, and some of the combos were just horrible button press and direction disasters

I don’t like MK. So they can do whatever they want.
