Netflix PS3 Streaming May Not Be Far Off

Netflix has a job opening for an Engineering Leader — Gaming Platforms. This is far from a smoking gun, but it does breath new life into the various rumors that Netflix will be making its way to other gaming consoles. There have been no formal announcements, but it would not be surprising if this was kept mum until E3. Is there a real demand for Netflix streaming on PS3? Feel free to share in our comments.

If I ever sign up for Netflix, though I may not due to that Blu-Ray fiasco, I want this feature.

I think that this will definitely boost up the PS3′s popularity vs. the Xbox 360, because both should be “Home Entertainment Systems”, not “Boxes That Can Play Halo 3″

i would probably for sure sign up for Netflix if it went onto the ps3, i also think that it would be a plus for the ps3. If sony puts ads out and lets less hardcore gamers know they might pick the ps3 over the xbox bc of blue ray and all the stuff it has to offer

Well I went to http://www.playon.com and got a 2 week free trial of their service. Then I signed up for a 1 week free trial of Netflix service. I tried their streaming, and there wasn’t much I wanted. Play on worked GREAT for taking my netflix instant queue and streaming it to my PS3 especially considering the 1 time fee of 30 dollars.
On Play On I was also able to stream youtube videos from my subscriptions and it was much more enjoyable to watch youtube that way than going through the website.
I unsubscribed from netflix because overall I didn’t like the service and the streaming just didn’t have any movies I wanted to watch.
I didn’t purchase play on for that same reason.
If streaming to your PS3 is your ONLY reason why you are not subbed to netflix, then do the free trial of play on media server and the free trial of netflix. I lost no money in the transaction and you can gauge whether or not it’s something you want to try or use. Why wait?

I suscribe to Netflix, so I would definitely use this…hopefully it does happen
