Bionic Commando Demo Goes Exclusive…

With Bionic Commando set to release on May 22nd, it only make sense for Capcom to get the demo to as many gamers as possible. Instead, Capcom has gone against this notion and decided to not release a Bionic Commando demo for the PS3 or PC.

As of right now, there’s no explanation for why this was done. As you may remember, Tomb Raider also had an exclusive 360 demo. The official statement from Capcom is that “that there are ‘no plans’ for a PS3 demo of Bionic Commando.”  This is not the first time that Capcom has made a demo 360 exclusive; the demo for Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix was also a 360 exclusive. So, PS3 owners, are you still getting the title? Or is the lack of a demo too risky to warrant a purchase?

I’d say those bandwdith fees had something to do with it.

I wouldn’t doubt it. But it may also help sales. I remember Tomb Raider sold better on PS3, despite the demo being a 360 exclusive. The 360 owners got a heads-up on how bad the game was. =P

    OK….exclusive games…understandable…..but exclusive demos…..whats the point of that…

Oh well they just lost themselves a couple of potential customers.

  4. Dixon Says:

As always I not going to support any developers who doesn’t respect us, THE PS3 FANS.

    John Draisey says

Publishers generally make more money off the PS3, so we’ve seen developer support for this system improve a lot over the past year.

This decision probably has more to do with the PS3 Online Bandwidth fee. You can view the details here:

I understand that being here and complaining about things might make you feel better, but if you’re interested in finding out why this is being done, why not just go Home and ask them? They’re there NOW.

I would have said the PSN fee had something to do with it, IF IT WASN’T A CAPCOM GAME. That just turns it into a non-surprise, and is really too much at this point. I’m really starting to not want to support Capcom, who used to be my very favorite dev years ago, at all anymore.

  8. Sneeches Says:

yup ill be playing it on my xbox :)

Dont worry I’ll let you guys know how it is.

    John Draisey says

    Thanks!

  9. SolidCake_ Says:

the videos so far of this game don’t do anything for me.

TEA party these fools and Squenix as well. Seriously, guys. Don’t buy products from these disloyal jerk offs that made millions off the Sony brand, and then turn their backs as soon as Microsoft offers money. There’s no way Microsoft can possibly give them as much money for exclusives as they made off of Sony. Both of these companies, and even Rockstar, suck. Rockstar for exclusive DLC, and the fact that GTAIV blows camels.

  11. Jeneric Says:

    im pretty disappointed with this.

  12. OldBloodAndGuts Says:

I agree with Smokey_vols. This stinks, though. I’m not really expecting this game to be any good, but that’s why I’ll rent it.

  13. magpie4life Says:

Guys, I totally agree that we shouldn’t support game developers who don’t support our console. But I think we still have to play this great title. For me, i will NOT buy the game, but I will rent it.

Take that capcom!! My money is going to either Blockbuster or Gamefly.

  14. ZemaOner Says:

Once again, we must revolt! haha

  15. MakaiOokami Says:

Hey, you keep harping on the whole “Bandwidth fee” but then answer me this and I will concede the point…

The 360 and PC are similar in architecture as well as programming, and has no bandwidth fees, yet the 360 is getting a demo and the PC isn’t….

    Elaborate please?

My idea? Capcom was using a 360 build for previews and decided to pump out a demo for that (or shoot for the larger fanbase on the 360) and decided against demos for the other platforms and will claim it is because “We ranz out of moniez” you know just like with RE 5 and the post release, multiplayer feature that didn’t fit into the original scope yet somehow managed to look just like a few hundred KB unlock key for something that seems very likely to be on the disk itself?

Maybe we’re both wrong and Microsoft just paid them for one. Who can say huh?

  16. shadowjin Says:

i dont think its the bandwidth fee’s.. its Capcom ………… (the end)

  17. UTWarden Says:

well I own both systems, and with a demo the thing that could sway me is controls or how well it runs, No Demo tells you something else… Legendary anyone?
