The developers behind the latest SOCOM titles have just issued an update regarding their newest installment for the PlayStation Portable. This is what they had to say:
“It’s been over 2 years since we released SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 for the PlayStation Portable. During that time we’ve been working diligently to improve the SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo series and are excited to announce the upcoming release of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 for the PSP.
Join the ominous world of ex-secret operatives as you lead a covert operation to track and interrogate former KGB agent, Alexander Gozorov who is believed to be withholding information on a forthcoming attack with weapons of mass destruction.
While the SOCOM name has long been synonymous with multiplayer tactical gaming, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 takes it a step further allowing players to tackle missions with teamwork and firepower. Players can also compete online, communicate via voice chat, battling for Medals and a place on SOCOM’s online leaderboards.
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 is being developed by Slant Six Games; keep your eyes on the blog this Friday to check out a teaser trailer for SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3. To our Confrontation community, we still have a team working on future patches and updates as well as downloadable content for Confrontation. We will be releasing more details on that soon.”

Voyou San, you might want to rethink that. I have reason to believe there are certain groundbreaking features included in the game that will be a first on the platform. Just saying, if you have a PSP, I bet you’ll get this game. More to come

yea no thanks Stalking. They put out such a pathetic attempt at a game on the PS3, i don’t think i will ever waste my hard earned money on another game by them. Plus shooters on the PSP = not my thing.

You can try the FTB2 demo for the PSP – well-executed shooter on PSP. Good & fun demo, too.
Again, I think you might change your mind.

Sure Confrontation had a rough start and it still needs some issues addressed but they have fixed a big number of the initial problems and I play often with little issues.

I’m still waiting for a 2.0 update before I try Confrontation. Their PSP titles have been pretty good though. Guess the PS3 was just too much for them to handle; it was a pretty big hardware jump. Sony should’ve just delayed the U.S. release.
