DualShock 3 Goes Silver

When the PS3 was first revealed back at E3 2005, there was a silver, white and black version of the console on display. However, once the final product was released in 2006, Sony had unexpectedly chosen black as the only available color.

Some were disappointed, and wanted more options for the look of their beloved console .Sony did drop a few hints that they would attempt a larger array of colors, but at an unspecified date.  Gamespot has posted a silver DualShock 3 for pre-order, quite surprisingly. It’s not as impactful as having a silver PS3, but it is a start. Will any of you be getting one?

If they are pre-ordering for a silver DS3 then the console can’t be far behind, I expect to hear something at E-3. Maybe a new bundled issue with GOWIII… Would not be that far fetched…

  2. Just because we are getting different colored controllers doesn’t mean we’re getting different colored consoles. We had several different colors of the Dual Shock 2 and only a black PS2 until the silver slim came out years later. Screw silver anyways, I still want a gunmetal console :) .

Nice, but I already have 4 black ones. Otherwise I would buy one.

  4. I’m really hoping they release a Glossy White PS3. God, that would look so clean.
