We’ve all had the same thought. With the enourmous library of PlayStation One titles at Sony’s disposal, why haven’t more PSOne Classics made their way to the PS Store?
Well soon enough, you won’t have to ask that question again, as the word is that Sony will be bringing a big chunk of PSN classics to the North American PS Store. Even more specific, they plan on bringing 3 of the titles which helped make PlayStation king. Those 3 titles are Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil: Director’s Cut, and (drum roll please…) Final Fantasy VII.
No mention of when exactly this is going to happen, but you can expect them soon.

5 out of 5, good news. Btw, there’s a chance this version of RE will sell more than RE5, think about that for a moment.
April 20th, 2009 at 1:46 PM
I’d rather have RE2, but all in all, this is great news. FF7 would be cool, but come on….I need Xenogears!
April 20th, 2009 at 1:49 PM
I would love to see Legend of Dragoon, Colony Wars, Alundra and many other Psygnosis games.
I also would like to see a Arc the Lad, Blasto, Intelligent Qube, Jet Moto, Tomba!, Beyond the Beyond, Arc the Lad & Omega Boost
I also would love to see Vagrant Story, Policenauts & Snatcher. Because those are awesome third party games. I would add many more but these ones would be great. Also I know Policenauts never came out in North America but may be Sony could add a patch to the make the game easier to under stand. Like what Nintendo has done with some games on the Wii’s Virtual Console.

Finally Metal Gear Solid is coming . Thank you SONY , THANK YOU
April 20th, 2009 at 1:51 PM

Please Sony
April 20th, 2009 at 2:10 PM
Those are definitely 3 titles I been waiting for, but a source of some kind would be nice.
I would also like to see Loaded, Return Fire, Bushido Blade, Tenchu, Philosoma, and Vigilante 8.
April 20th, 2009 at 2:29 PM
Let’s face it…..there are a ton of great PSOne games that need to be on PSN. If Sony gets on the ball, they can make a lot of money for not very much effort.
April 20th, 2009 at 2:49 PM
This is awesome!
April 20th, 2009 at 2:52 PM
Sweet, Sweet, SWEET!!! Ohhh happy day. Metal Gear Solid & Resident Evil: The Director’s Cut will definately get downloaded. Been asking for this version for a very long time. I’ve never really been a Final Fantasy fan, but I’m happy that it’s coming & for the fans who stuck to their guns and made sure Sony brought it to PSN. Looks like we all win!
April 20th, 2009 at 3:00 PM
Your welcome Swann.
cool to see FFVII come to the store
April 20th, 2009 at 3:13 PM
If they’re going to do this, they may as well bring out FFVIII and FFIX. =]
April 20th, 2009 at 3:15 PM
I’ll download all three of those games. We will see more from Capcom than just RE Director’s Cut. They submitted “titles” to Sony and Sven said the earliest they could get them out will be late May.

April 20th, 2009 at 3:31 PM
This is very good news. I already own MGS and FF7, but may get FF7 anyways. I’ll definitely get Resident Evil…This is definitely a step in the right direction..now if they’ll release:
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy Tactics
Suikoden II
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Lunar
Lunar 2
Arc the Lad
Hoshigami
I’d be a very happy, and broke, camper!

YES
April 20th, 2009 at 6:19 PM
They should have TROPHY support for any and all PSone games they bring to the PSN store. It would be that much more of an incentive to buy these games.
April 20th, 2009 at 7:49 PM
This is really great news and long overdue. with the lack of BC on newer ps3’s drowning gamers with ps1 games would have been a great distraction until a solution was found.
really glad to hear it. i’m more excited about RE1 than i was about RE5.

Who’s with me when I say, “Where is Bushido Blade”… One or two it doesn’t matter… In fact why isn’t any game company making Bushido Blade 3?
Lets Bushido!

They need to remake Xenogears and Legend of Dragoon to be PS3 quality, that would rock my socks
