According to French website PS3Gen.fr, we could be seeing a price cut of both the PS3 and PSP as early as this June. This news come from a supposed “proven” internal source from the French site, who unofficially confirmed a PS3, PSP price cut for early June of this year.
The source revealed the new price of the PSP, which is 169 euros, down from it’s current price of 189 euros. Unfortunately the source did not give out the price for the PlayStation 3. However, we don’t know if the price cut is coming to North America as well.
The source also confirmed the existence of the new PSP, in which they said it should be available before the end of the year. As of right now, take this as only “rumor and speculation”, and wait for an official statement from Sony.

Why should we here at PSLS take a new PSP to be “rumors and speculation” when we know it to be fact? Let’s not be forgetting here that we broke the story on what is and isn’t so about the bloody thing.

I’m more so interested in the price drooping for the PSP. If the price goes down, I’ll be more apt to buying it, even if it does have only one analog stick.

If I decided to get a new PS3 I would want to make sure that the one I got had both the small form factor chips in it, the 65/45nm Cell and the same size RSX chip. Since it was rumored to be in production since last October. I would reduce electricity costs and keep it cooler longer..
