Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Coming to HD [Update]
Marvel.com has just revealed what we all hoped was true. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is back. There is a great trailer, which you can see above, on the site. The game will be exactly as you remember. Over 50 playable characters, but there will also be online play. The exact release date has not been revealed, but the trailer says that it will arrive Summer 2009. Are you ready to get hit with a “drill claw?”

PS Blog has been updated by John Diamond of CAPCOM with the reveal of MvsC2 Demo coming to PSN this Thursday. This demo will be Exclusive to the PSN.

This Thursday, April 30, PlayStation Network users will enjoy a free, exclusive MVC2 demo! No need to purchase another game, just download it straight to your PS3 and get ready for some triple tag team action (A big thank you goes out to Rommel Hernandez who helped make this exclusive demo possible).
Here are the details of the demo:
- Two-player local matches
- Six available characters – Ryu, Chun-Li, Strider, Spider-Man, Iron Man and Wolverine
- Seven selectable environments
- Upscaled 1080p graphics
- Widescreen or 4:3 aspect ratio
- Two graphic filter options for character sprites
- And other cool options to check out

I owned this game back when it first came out for the Dreamcast. I’ll buy it just for the nostalgia.

Supposedly the Dreamcast version of the game is the best because it was developed specifically for that system, well after the PS2 and XBOX versions. Hence, the DC version is the one with the least bugs, glitches, issues, etc… This means we’ll have the best version of the game to play!
I still haven’t ventured into the attic to hunt for my old Dreamcast system and copy of MvC2 with the virtual memory units, VMU’s! I would do it tomorrow, but the demo hits the US PSN Store this Thursday, so I don’t think it’s even worth it. Especially since the game will be out this summer (four months or less).
Awe man, I’m already racking my brain to remember my favorite 3 characters… I think it was Wolverine, that Japanese dude with the sword and that chic with the green tank or whatever the hell it is.
Wolverine, Omega Red, and Sabertooth was my favorite Marvel team.
There are so many combinations- I’m so excited about this game!

@Solid – Yup online is good, i just hope it doesn’t lag too much… I know a lot of people (not me) complained about SSFIIHD lagged online and thus people didn’t want to play.

Ahahahahaaa! They’re actually doing something for the fans this time, especially priced at $14.99.
I think (HOPE) Capcom is doing the same thing with MvC as they did with Street Fighter. SF2THD is to SF4, as MvC2HD will be to Marvel vs Capcom 3. It’s a real possibility, especially since the licensing/copyright titles have been registered.
