Word in from sources close to TVGB are saying that Call of Duty 7 will be a departure from World War II. Evidently Activision is licensing some interesting music selections. The hit parade selections include: Vietnam War era, Cuban, African and Soviet Union music. Could the next installment of Treyarch’s everlast be entitled Call of Duty: the Cold War?

Last year the Call of Duty: World at War producer was on record for looking beyond World War II.

I’m sure game companies will be making World War II games for years to come and World War II is a very classic war. But we’re happy that we put the war to bed.
- Noah Heller, Call of Duty: World at War’s senior producer, Treyarch

yeah i might just pass on this game. world at war wasnt that great and mw2 is going to blow this game out of the water. the only reason i play waw anymore is the zombie missions. maybe if they took more than a year on this game i would get it but i know they wont so ill probably pass on this half assed attempt to make another shooter.

This could be good… moving away from the WWII era and towards other wartime years.

I love the game play and the look, but the stories are getting old and lame.
The story writers need to stop watching so much 24 and think up something original (like MGS4 with corporations running war full-time with mercenaries).
I know it always has to be about the kickass/badass killing machine hero…..but do all the enemies really have to be that stupid? I guess it has to appeal to the masses doesn’t it….damn.
