For all those who enjoy using a mouse to gun down your enemies, you’re in luck. Noted PSP hacker, TokyoDrift, has created a mod for the PSP, that allows for the user full use of a PC mouse.
What’s interesting is that TokyoDrift didn’t use USB to connect the mouse. Instead, he used an old PS/2 mouse, in which he connected to the PSP’s serial port. All of the functionality of the mouse works, even allowing for button-mapping.

Of course, the usefulness of this mod will vary from game-to-game. However, it is a neat idea and just goes to show that the PSP isn’t as mobile as some would think.

Kind of defeats the purpose of a portable device doesn’t it?

doesn’t really defeat the purpose of it. Just replace the PS/2 mouse with a PS2 gamepad and… VOILA!

@Jeff:
That’s what I think, it’s a little redundant for a portable game device. If you’re going so far as to plugging a mouse in for a game, why not just play it on a large screen via console? It’s still kind of cool, though.
