Besides there are a lot of McDonald’s, Malls, friends, Burger Kings, Hastings, truck stops, rest stops, and so many other places around the country that people can go online. It’s no less secure using your credit card on your PSP than it is to pay by credit card essentially anywhere in real life. They just take a piece of paper, place it over, and scribble on it with a crayon or even take a picture via cellphone.

It only takes minute to pop in your credit card info. If you’re using a credit card on the PSN or have like a 5 dollar wal-mart visa card or a PSN card to your account then you can easily protect yourself further.

Besides it’s not that they’re doing this game on UMD only because people are pirating it. They’ll just pirate the versions from other countries. (hell we’ve had it for a long time now)

As far as the “Well what if I decide to sell it?” what do you need to sell it for? I dont’ know about you but I don’t buy crappy games if at all possible. I make sure I”m going to like a game before I get it therefor have no reason to want to sell the game for 1/3 or less of what I paid for it. Wouldn’t you rather the devs and Sony make more money off the game? Wouldn’t you rather cut into the used game market so that devs can actually get their money?

Besides you can activate the game on up to 5 psps. You could even go to 4 people and go “Hey i’ll sell you Patapon 2 for 10 dollars” copy it over. They can protect their investment by downloading the PC app and backing up the game that way. So I don’t even think concerns of not having a physical medium are quite valid.

In fact I have a co-worker who has a PSP stolen 2 times along with all of his games. I know another guy whose psp and games were stolen.

Then there’s all the complaints of UMDs breaking. To me this is a great way of protecting an investment.

As far as not having a retail case. many people that have bought used have gotten a fake insert anyway.

i can’t think of a single valid argument in terms of keeping UMD. Not to mention that you don’t have to worry about carrying UMDs around considering the 16GB cards that have come out and how much data can be put. You can get 4GB cards fairly cheaply and could even separate your cards by Genre especially if you find more good deals.

That is the problem with that type of game made from a movie… Repetitive since it is also a demo but when your character and his role in the game are limited then you will always have a repetitive nature to the game…

I think that is why FPS/TPS games are more popular in the American Market, we get bored easier and we don’t like to wait for a games plot to come forward or should I say that we don’t need a plot in a game we just want to “KILL KILL KILL”….

But for those that are more inclined to be a bully in school then this game is right up their psychological alley…

76% of Americans have internet access. I would wager somewhere north of 90% of PSP owners do. I really think that’s a subsection of the market Sony can afford to ignore.

Concerns about not having a physical product on the other hand are probably more valid.

Most libraries also offer internet access. Trust me; if a person has their wits about them, they have plenty of options unless they are literally in the middle of nowhere, in which case they’re probably unaware of Patapon 2 anyway.

SO like my brothers, there are millions of others out there who do not have the internet and will miss out on a game like this because of the digital download only. I think that’s a stupid move on the dev’s part and sony’s part.
