PlayStation World Magazine had an article in their latest issue stating that Microsoft’s exclusivity deal for Grand Theft Auto IV DLC was only a 6 month timed exclusive. If all of this is indeed true, that would put the release of Lost and Damned for PS3 on August 20th, 2009.
Rockstar Games is known for releasing content on one system, then releasing 6-12 months later on another. Only this time around it was the ‘other’ system that got the timed deal. Will you be buying this DLC if it does come to the PS3?
For now this will go strictly in the Rumor bin, but we will keep an eye out for this. Hopefully with E3 around the corner we might be able to get some answers. As always, stay here on PlayStation LifeStyle for all of the latest news on your favorite console.

Sounds good, if it’s real. I’d probably buy it, I love Grand Theft Auto 4.

I’d probably buy it. I’ve always been a sucker for GTA games.

I wont. Would have gotten boring by then.

Since I just got done with GTA4 recently, I’d definitely pick this up.

dont have the game so i doubt it

I’ll buy it, I like GTA4 and this DLC was supposed to be decent.

I am unsure about this… Microsoft actually paid for this to be exclusive. Seems to me their (quite substantial) payment wouldnt just be a 6 month exclusive. I would probably buy it if it comes to PS3, but I just dont believe it will.

Definetly will buy it, been meaning to find another reason to replay it again

this is a definite buy. hopefully it will have some ps3 exclusive missions.

im no going to buy out of principle

I probably would buy it. I still have to finish GTA IV so it would still be fresh for me.

I finished the game a long time ago but I’ll still consider getting this assuming I’m not playing another game at that time.

There’s too many new games coming out this year for me to care about DLC for a year old game.
May 10th, 2009 at 6:53 PM
LMFAO so Microsoft pays 50 million for exclusive DLC, it comes out almost a year later, but is only exclusive for 6 months?
It doesn’t matter to me when I get stuff. I’m used to waiting 6-24 months for games to localized from 1 country to another anyway.

that doesn’t surprise me at all lol.

Its possible that there was a stipulation in the agreement with MS that the content had to sell as certain amount. Since the sales for the Lost and Damned are pretty disappointing that could be a reason it would go to the PS3 if the rumor is true.

if this is true, RockStar made out like bandits. they should make the same deal for the next GTA game as well. i don’t mind.

Microsoft worded it as they didnt buy it they fronted R* the profits from the sales.
However if this turns out to be true I wont get it. I played GTA4 to death and once I got platinum I was pretty sick of it. Since at the time there wasn’t hope of DLC I traded it in, I’m not rebuying it now. Same with Fallout 3, I played it to death and traded it thinking no hope of DLC. If it gets announced now too bad for me but I wont loose sleep over it.

Don’t care too late and didn’t really like GTA4.
