Just because 3D Realms is dead doesn’t mean Duke Nukem will die with it. According to Fudzilla, Take-2 Interactive offered $30 million for the rights to the Duke Nukem franchise.

It’s been reported that George Broussard declined the offer, at least initially, because he is in talks with several other publishers, including Epic Games, Electronic Arts, id Softwareand (believe it or not) Microsoft. From what is heard, Duke Nukem Forever isn’t done, and Take-2 still holds the publishing rights. Despite this, the future of this game is certainly unclear.

my prediction is EA will pick this up.

  2. SolidCake_ says:

If someone has 30 million extra, shouldn’t they feed the homeless instead of buying this turd?
Just an opinion, flame not intended.

  3. @Solid:
If they used that logic, we would never have any games. lol. They are probably taking a risk and trying to make a profit like any business. lol.

But no, I am not excited for this game. When I was younger and the other ones were popular, I thought they were dumb.

  4. What are they waiting for? Christmas?

  5. Sneeches says:

@Alpha – no silly, they are waiting for Fathers day :P

  6. Jeneric says:

im going to say microsoft is going to pick this up. we all know how they like to fork over dough for exclusivity. im really hoping against this but its obvious they are the top competitor. hopefully though ea picks it up.

  7. DGR8Mc187 says:

Actually MS NEEDS to pick this up seeing as how stellar their game lineup has been lately.
    Flame intended

  8. mcx says:

I hope its not Microsoft. id would be awesome.

  9. Brad Grenz says:

I’m pretty sure Fudzilla has the story backwards. Take Two owns the publishing rights already, they offered to sell those rights back to 3D Realms for 30 million dollars. If 3D realms is in talks with other publishers its to try and get them to buy the rights from Take Two PLUS fund continuing development.
