PS3 Becomes Konami’s Breadwinner

In their recent fiscal report for 2008-2009, Konami released some surprising numbers regarding the Playstation 3.
The Playstation 3 represented 28% of Konami’s total software sales last year. This makes Sony’s behemoth the top seller for Konami last fiscal year. Of course, the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 may have done something with the numbers. In fact, the jump from the previous fiscal year is astounishing. For the 2007-2008 fiscal year, the Playstation 3 only accounted for 8% of Konami’s total sales.
Going more in-depth, here are the platform-by-platform performance figures:
- Playstation 3 – 28%
- Nintendo Wii – 17%
- Playstation 2 – 17%
- Nintendo DS – 16%
- PSP – 12%
- Xbox 360 – 7%
- PC – 2%

MGS4 on 360 confirmed aaaahahaha!
Even PSP and PS2 were higher than 360? Metal Gear Solid needs to stay right at home.

MGS4 wouldn’t have to save Konami if they didn’t put out bullshit like Rock Revolution and instead just made a fucking DDR for PS3, gave it 100 tracks (like Pump It Up did) and then give reasonably priced DLC with ALL of the fan favorites and possibly even a disk swap feature.
I’m not asking for much here Konami just making some next gen games and not that abysmal DDR Wii game (back when I traded in my PS2 for money for a PS3) and ended up not being able to play DDR. I won’t buy another DDR game ever until my demands are met. Until then I shall enjoy stepmania (when I get the chance to which appears to be never) T_T

I’m not the least bit surprised to read this. Maybe this will convince Kojima to remain exclusive to Sony.
well sony will only stay on top if Konami actually releases games for the PS3….seems like the only good game they released has been MGS 4. Now what? nothing….come on Konami, back up your most valuable platform.
