Reports have surfaced citing the tremendous increase of staff members of Ubisoft Montreal, the development team behind Assassin’s Creed 2.
Speaking for Ubisoft Montreal, Producer Sebastien Puel stated that almost 450 people are working on Assassin’s Creed 2; with almost 75% of them working on the original.
“The team’s size for the second title of Assassin’s Creed 2 is about three times the size of the team of the first game,” Puel said.
“Making [Assassin's Creed] from A to Z took around four years…it’s a very good thing we are keeping most of the core members who envisioned the first Assassin’s Creed. They know the project very well.”
Puel also said that for the original, the production team had ‘thousands of ideas’, and very little of them were used. However, with the increased staff levels, the team will be able to “integrate” them into Assassin’s Creed 2.

this game is going to be outstanding. i really enjoyed the first one. it was a little hard to get used to the controls but after you master them the game was flawless.
damn……as long as they keep the free running as fluid and fun, they can’t go wrong…..but seriously, make the story missions better.
Great. Now let’s hope all these extra programmers can cut down on the redundant investigations.
Well, the more people you bring into a project, the more back-and-forth goes around… this basically means it will take more time because every part of that team will depend on each other to carry a load and then they gotta check with a dozen other people blah-blah-blah…
Massive delays predicted.
too many ideas into one production can be a bad thing….you’ll be all over the place doing random shit and it’ll get tedious and boring.
I just hope the second isn’t as boring and tedious as the first.
if there just programing and not ALL directing…….. than there should be no issue.
AC 2 is going to be awesome. 1st day buy.
Maybe the increase in staff will help the game be alot less repetitive, lol
I did like AC despite that fact though.
