Reports have surfaced citing the tremendous increase of staff members of Ubisoft Montreal, the development team behind Assassin’s Creed 2.
Speaking for Ubisoft Montreal, Producer Sebastien Puel stated that almost 450 people are working on Assassin’s Creed 2; with almost 75% of them working on the original.
“The team’s size for the second title of Assassin’s Creed 2 is about three times the size of the team of the first game,” Puel said.
“Making [Assassin’s Creed] from A to Z took around four years…it’s a very good thing we are keeping most of the core members who envisioned the first Assassin’s Creed. They know the project very well.”
Puel also said that for the original, the production team had ‘thousands of ideas’, and very little of them were used. However, with the increased staff levels, the team will be able to “integrate” them into Assassin’s Creed 2.
