Quite reasonable sizes really, and I love PSN games, so this would be pretty cool.

What’d be even better is if you could hire the game, download it etc. Then if you decide you like it ‘some’ of the rental cost is taken off of the price to buy the full game (I’d expect a download key like they currently do on PSN games)

Kinda like a ‘paid for demo’ – or a deposit lol

Thats a good idea. but with internet caps becoming redundant it may not pay off. especially when they started testing cap limits in the US.

Looking at those numbers about UMD and games I would hazard a guess that digital downloads are cheaper than creating a smaller disc format and I would not be surprised to see games going back to a “cartridge”/memory stick format. When 2gb sticks are easily purchased and game sizes less than 1gb you could conceivably start to move to a dual media format since the games are downloaded from the Net to the memory stick installed in the system. So having games on stick and download for rental would make sense… With both stick and digital coming with a DRM system which would stop copyright theft…

I really like the idea of this. I don’t know how big the average PSP game is…

If they’re too big, I can see it not working in my country (Australia) as we have pretty expensive and limited (download quotas) internet. Nothing a few 700Mb or so games would harm, but still…

hmmm interesting. dont know which one i would go with… probably the one where you can rent the game upon release though.
