
[shal]Warner Bros.[/shal] is offering $33 million to purchase the majority of [shal]Midway[/shal], who recently went bankrupt, as well as one of the publisher’s major game assets.
According to the agreement, Warner Bros. will acquire the [shal]Mortal Kombat[/shal] franchise, in addition to the publisher’s Seattle and Chicago studios. However, Midway’s San Diego studio and [shal]Newcastle[/shal], the team behind the [shal]Wheelman[/shal] series, are still in limbo. Warner Bros. and Midway are currently awaiting a decision from the bankruptcy court in order to finalize the deal.
