Free Realms Wins Over 2 Million Diverse Players

05/29/2009 Written by Kishen Patel

With a record-shattering speed to 2 million players, Sony Online Entertainment’s free-to-play MMO has already doubled its number of players, and even has a few interesting facts to share.

Out of the encompassing 2 million players, 75% of the user base is under the age of 17 and 46% of that is under the age of 13. Another interesting but unsurprising fact is that one-third of the user base is female. According to SOE president John Smedley:

“…in less than a month, Free Realms has captivated a core player base of tween and teen gamers, while also strongly resonating with MMO gamers.”

Due to this milestone of the MMO, Free Realms players will be treated to a “party pack” full of items that the players can use to their disposal. Also, this makes us all the more eager for the PlayStation 3 release of the free MMO.
