With a new focus on narrative in the Ratchet & Clank Future series, fans of the series have been eager to find out what the next instalment of the franchise holds for us. For example, who is that other Lombax from the teaser trailer? Isn’t Ratchet the only Lombax?

In an interview with Brian Allegier by IGN, the creative director of Ratchet & Clank Future:  A Crack in Time reveals a lot of new information about the story. As we all should know, the game takes place where Quest for Booty left off. Dr. Nefarious and his trusty butler, Lawrence, of Up Your Arsenal fame will be making their return along with another unannounced character (we’ll just go on a limb and say it’s the plumber).

As for the other Lombax, he was first hinted at int Tools of Destruction when the player visits the “Court of Azimuth”. Azimuth is the other remaining Lombax who actually knew Ratchet’s father.

The only thing revealed about gameplay in the interview was that time travel is present in the game. Other than that, the rest will be shown “behind closed doors” and obviously in the release this fall.
