Star Trek Online to Boldly Go Where No Person Has Gone Before

Atari has announced that Star Trek Online (created by Cryptic Studios, who brought us City of Heroes) will be coming no later than March 31st 2010. So, we can expect a release date at least a little bit before that.

It’s interesting that Atari hasn’t chosen to list any specific platforms for the newest Cryptic MMO, but it has been previously stated that the game will be coming to “both console and PC formats”. And also remember, Cryptic Studios was hiring a PS3 engine programmer a while back. Could we be seeing Star Trek Online for PlayStation 3? We certainly hope so.

MMO’s on the PS3 just don’t sound correct to me.

Has there ever been a good Star Trek video game? I don’t think so. I’ll need to see some footage to even download the demo, if one ever launches.
