And Then The Clouds Parted…Kojima Next

The Kojima NEXT site updated late last night.  No, the timer did not reach zero yet…but it is very close.  The rain did in fact go away though, and now there’s sunlight shining through the parted clouds.

There is also either a ‘B’ or an ’8′ that flashes on the screen every few seconds. This approach is indeed odd, but I believe Kojima is achieving what he wanted to in creating this countdown of a countdown of an announcement.

im pretty sure its mgs rising. the timer ends in 30 min though.

  2. Aww! You fooled me. I thought the title of this post was announcing something BIG. I saw the site earlier today.

  3. 8th metal gear game? just a guess

  4. Yea it is most likely MGS Rising and the new PSP title. Hopefully MGS Rising is Multi-Platform though!

It better damn be I would be pissed to see Konami bone us, but whatever that seems to be the way MS does things.

the timer is done. has anybody seen what it is? probably a new countdown

I’m pretty sure this is MGS: Rising. Kojima announced the series is going multiplatform and that the next MGS is going to be based on Raiden. I’ve lost some respect for Kojima for jumping ship and heading to Xbox 360. How is he going to make the game on a dvd? I thought he was crying because he couldn’t fit MGS4 on a 50 gig BluRay! What a dick.

On a side note, I thought Microsoft’s conference was good, but they are announcing things that Sony has already done or announced that are being called revolutionary. Project Natal seems like a waste of time or a PSEye. HD movies are something that Sony has been doing for over a year now. The Facebook and Twitter thing are neat, but unoriginal. All of there exclusives (other then Splinter Cell) weren’t jaw dropping. FFXIII looked graphically BAD and Forza IS NOT GOING TO BE THE DEFINATIVE RACING GAME!!! NFS: Shift looked better and had better features then Forza.

Kojima going multiplatform isn’t going to make or break PS3. I can’t wait for tomorrow for Sony’s Presser.

Ok I’m getting off the soap box. Anyone else wanna get on? Haha

Totally agree with the post above. Microsoft press conference was neat in technical aspects but not in the game aspect. Natal is neat and all but not seriously something that would be used in the gaming world. Will turn out much like the PSEye, not used very much. Xbox games were disappointing even with the display of two Halo games which seem to be the only game they have. Final Fantasy looked as disappointing as I though it would on the Xbox and Kojima seriously come on. Are you going to lower your superiority of great games to lower yourself to go the Xbox. Well i can’t wait to see how it looks on dvd. Oh I also found that saying Forza was going to be the BEST LOOKING RACING GAME EVER was hilarious, I really dont think they were serious with that. Gran Turismo Prologue looks better.

Well I have other things to say but ill leave at that.

  9. Considering how much time and money it costs to make a MGS game, I’m not really angry at Kojima for releasing the next one for the 360. And besides, MGS2 was released for the original box, so it’s not like this is the first time MS is getting a MGS game. Other than the MGS announcement, MS had nothing new to offer. Their exclusives aren’t very good, and two of the biggest holiday titles (BioShock 2 and Modern Warefare 2) should get simultaneous releases on both consoles.

Even if Sony doesn’t announce anything new, they have already won with their exclusives (Uncharted 2, GoW III, Ratchet & Clank, LittleBIGPlanet PSP, MGS PSP, Fat Princess, Trince, Project TRICO… and it goes on and on).

great insight in the above three posts. cant disagree with any points.

id like to add… kojima only explained the picture of raiden… and its multiplat… this still leaves the picture of big boss unexplained. could be a ps3 exclusive! it looked too good to be just a psp game! also on this update of the sight there is still a lot of space to the right of the raiden pic! maybe ps3 gets two new mgs games! there could also be something like vr missions. exclusive vr missions would be a nice.

    @ LustM0nk3y

very true.. Kojima did complain that the PS3 50gb wasn’t enough for MGS4. it be interesting to see how he takes on the 360 version of MG since in the past most where disappointed with the results or scored low.

I don’t care what platform it’s on as long as PS3 gets something.
