Sony has just announced its motion controller. The overall look of it will change before it is shipped. The motion controller will use the PlayStation Eye to track the controller. The tech-demo showed the greatest 1:1 motion tracking available. This could be big for casual gamers on the PS3. Set for release in Spring 2010. this looks pretty bad… i mean the demo their doing is weak sauce IMO.
@Sneeches
you are aware its a prototype?
@shadow – yes i am lol but I honestly think they shouldn’t have shown that, it was pretty lame.
i thought it was good because i know its a DEMO but some people are to picky.
i liked the bow and arrow
true 1:1 interaction, awesome.
Even for a prototype, that was really great.
@Sneeches
at first i would agree with you because thats what i initially thought but after trenton declared they wanted to release mid year next year….. i thought showing it now was a good idea… next year wouldnt make sense.
otherwise i thought this device looks extremely precise and impressive. i hope they actually do something with it. at least now i know my pseye is not going to continue to sit forever.
Sweet 1 to1 motion sensing done right without all the kiddy games.
i loved it, aiming without the need of pointing like the wii, thats true motion sensing gameplay. Lets u aim all weapons like theyre supposed to be aimed, bows and guns.
the graphics in the tech demo were simplistic but quite sharp but the motion sensing was incredible. i’ve seen similar stuff but nothing close to what i saw today. the implications are truly amazing. the ‘writing’ and ‘drawing’ portion was quite impressive. i was hoping to see something on “Eye Pet’ as well. i certainly was not expecting this though. freakin’ awesome!
I agree with you, Sobrguy. The potential of this peripheral is out of this world. And the writing and drawing demonstration was truly amazing. This will become the next ‘must-have’ item for the PS3.
